This hack is back; here, have some screenshots.

(there were goombas and a sumo bro in the second screenshot but they went back to their home planet.)

Possible design for the World 5 submap. I don't really like how it turned out, though, so I'll probably redo it at some point. But look! Purple slime!

EDIT:

I am terrible at making backgrounds.

W1-S Cookie Coast (first room)
A small preview of the first secret level in the hack. Throw Blocks and pirate-y Koopa reskins are everywhere in this one! Where does the pipe at the end go? Who knows?

The sky is the same one used in that oil level screenshot, but with a much less ominous palette! The red X sprites are Buster Beetles, and there is a layer 3 tide as well.

EDIT:

Ooh, blue/purple overworld HUD.

Unfinished background preview. It's an intentionally simple gradient-type sky, though there probably will be a few more features added, like faint images of clouds and stars.

It's based on a sky background from completely different game!

Also there's some bits and pieces of weirdly-paletted ground.

(That little blue skully guy at the top of all the level fragments is a buzzy beetle reskin; don't mind him.)

Hey look I did something with that background
It's also a swamp level I made that doesn't use the underground tiles + trees and flowers. Hooray for originality, and by that I mean slightly different underground tiles and tree-like things. There is also quicksand.

If a zombie uprising does begin (which it won't), everyone would die very quickly because the zombies will probably do things like spit sharks out of their mouths and dangle hypnotic lures from their heads.

It's a propeller block level. The yellow stars in the dirt and on the plants are animated. Not much else to say about it.

Hopefully I will finish this level and get it released soon!

Those giant green Elton John heads will haunt my dreams until the end of time.

There's also Spore, a.k.a. the biggest waste of potential in human history.

Super Muncher 64 will start being a thing once I get this model to work.

Also, a preview of part of the first level.

That nightmarish speedkill level is from Glover, isn't it?

I've waited nine years to be able to do this.

Context:
I'm experimenting with Pikmin 2 hacking. Not actually a serious project, but it may form the foundations for one!

Thanks for the feedback.

"Horrible Red"

A dangerous-sounding theme. I composed this one with "ghost house/tower" in mind, but it could just as easily fit in a volcano level or any other dangerous setting.

This is also one of those aforementioned unfinished songs...at least, it was, because it's finished now.

Unfinished graphics time.

(Based on this!)

More progress on this tileset. Now with bottom ground tiles, bare rock ledges, bricks and vines.

Oh hey a collab; better find my way inside before I run out of opportunities.

Anyways I'll claim 5-2 as that one appears to be open according to the first post.

Yee

Creepy Canopy is a dark swamp level. Expect darkness, ghosts, Nep-enuts and (hopefully) weird puzzles.

Screensquarts:

Removing that blindfold won't help you, Boo Man Bluff

Between a rock and a swamp monster

How on earth are you going to get that flower?

I'll try to keep this up-to-date as often as I can.
