I'd rather like to pointlessly unlock it and see what I should be proud of, but so far I'm failing to do so.

And you mean...

My eyes could be playing tricks on me, but did TFB just
1) swim under your level
2) skip a segment of your level by passing through obstacles with your balloon
3) ditch a shell as it was redundant
4) skip two landing tiles as he could cross a larger gap
5) skip four (4!) landing tiles because your jump is not hard enough

And why were there flunchers? And where is the music in the first room? And if you are going to use a proper gimmick like in the first level, make your level more confusing (aka longer)! You managed to get my hopes up as I was watching TFB's
run, and then I realize that the level ends immediately at the sweet gimmick...

All in all - that hack didn't seem to be too challenging. Using LotE's name to make this hack more popular seems like a standard ripoff to me.
Oh and don't lock your hack. If it wasn't for TFB I would not have been able to give
you this insightful criticism, and that would have been a shame wouldn't it?

The hack's name was just for a lack of a better one, not for popularity. It is completely vanilla, so I had some flunchers; don't kill me.

Most of the breaks were fixed, but not in v1.1, so to keep the smvs from desyncing, I kept them in there.

If you want me to check every glitch when I make a hack, I won't, cause breaks are always fun. There were some stupid mistakes I made on it, but I think it's pretty well done to be done and fully tested in two days.

I don't care if people break my hacks. It's ok, and not a big deal. This hack was created for pit difficulty. The flunchers are ok, if they aren't a big deal, and at least I put them by each other so that they are connected. Maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but I take what you have to say in great gratitude and consideration. Next time when I make a hack that people are going to think is hard and make it hard with no breaks (That I check). Sorry if the hack's name disappointed you or something, and maybe I'm not making them to be insanely hard, but to actually be fun and enjoyable (For TASers). If you have anymore advice or criticism to give me, PM me.

Does anybody know anything about corner boosts? I can't get this invincibility part in room 1 of Walljump Abuse. I've already spent tons (literally) of re-records on it. Please help.

Just now noticed this forum. The hack should just be called "Living on The Edge" and nothing else. As for other hacks. Even if you're trying to make the hardest hack, don't call it the hardest hack. I think LOTE has a difficulty harder than pit, but not by much. Maybe you should make another hack, TFB, and stop being such a jerk to everyone because of your ONE hack that you personally happen to say is the hardest. I'd like to see a TAS of Walljump Abuse and Glitch Abuse 2 SOLO. Maybe when you're telling everyone which hack is the hardest, YOU should play other hacks. I will not respond to ANYONE who responds to this comment.

Well, I think that who discovered the corner clip are lucky, was very luck the discovered.

I think that could be one TASer old, how TFB, ISM, Dainegai(?), Regnum0nline and others...

But, who discovered this glitch, then was studied best this glitch, because this glitch is very hard. Have patience.

what are you even talking about man

Jay and I are making a Pit Hack, IMing back and forth, making some pretty long rooms, testing and designing at a steady rate, adding tons of custom stuffs, including different blocks and music, as well as maybe even sprites. We've made several different rooms, ending up with many differences in all of the levels. So, today, we were asking ourselves, would this be better as a Pit Hack or Separate levels? The hack itself is worthy of Pit Difficulty, and we were going for length over difficulty, seeing how much new stuff we can add so that the average TASer wouldn't get bored in the slightest. We weren't, however, going for a Pitiless type hack. We were inspired mostly by GA2 to make this hack.

There doesn't seem to be too much wrong with linking multiple screens in a Pit hack, even if they are quite different. In Pitiless I chose for multiple separate levels partly because the 3-second level was incompatible with the rest, partly because I wanted multiple level ending gimmicks and partly because the levels had rather distinct gimmicks and themes. It's perfectly fine in Pit to link, say, a desert section with an icy section. If you're going to split it up into different levels I'd say you should make sure the levels have rather distinct gimmicks, and it'd be worth investing a little bit into the difficulty curve by having a really (really) hard last section. People love it when hacks with multiple levels get insanely hard near the end.

You'll have to play the hack when it comes out. I'd say it's the best one I've ever made (or helped making). We might say that you'll be pretty surprised with what we've put together (or not, if you just don't like big pit hacks (or separate levels if we agree on that) ) So far, it looks great! Even HFJ can agree on that. We put in new things for each room. Each room does have its own gimmick. It reminds me of a pit difficulty version of my Mario's Adventure hack. However, if you find a break, it will be rare. We've checked for breaks even in the non-breakable looking areas. I will not give away anything though. BTW, you spelled four wrong =P.

I first played Kaizo Mario without slowdown, before becoming a TASer, with literally tons of saves, and I thought that it was the hardest thing ever. Course, I thought the same with Item Abuse. Now, it's like a walk in the park. I guess you just get used to the same tricks after a while.

Also, I thought that the flunchers didn't mean anything, and now I'm obsessed with making sure everything is connected to something, so that it doesn't end up looking bad, and I've become something of a graphical critic over the period of time.

Throughout the years of watching TASes and learning what they are, I have began to wonder who is the best TASer. My personal favorite is Lucasdiv2010, but before I discovered him, I enjoyed TFB and Kaizoman's TASes. So if you have one, list some TASers or a personal favorite TASer of yours.

ooo I like him, too. He's a great TASer in his own right and I look up to him for his TAS of Ocarina of Time. Yes I watched the entire thing, and yes I thought it was epic (I'm talking about the all dungeons one).

I'm pretty much an ASM n00b when it comes to RAM values and how to use them, so I've been failing on every try of creating this block. What I want it to do is hurt the player for four ExAnimation frames, and then act as a blank tile for another four ExAnimation frames.

Thanks for your help! I finally got it to work with $14. I didn't think it would work before because I thought it would only work for one frame.

Just a little (big) update: The hack is almost finished! We're so excited to release it to the public! Give or take another day or two and expect another update then, along with the hack!

Awww no walljumps or duplication. C'mon man, you took the fun out of pit hacks and TASing =P.

The hack has 25 custom blocks inserted into it (Not counting duplicates) and 3 of which weren't used at all. It also includes 13 different music files inserted, an edited status bar a bit, two patches, and suprisingly no sprites (I was going to put in an anti yoshi generator but found out that it wasn't needed). It includes 13 long rooms (In my opinion) that we do think you'll truly enjoy!

Sorry for the delay of the hack, but we've come across some camera issues that we had to fix. Hopefully the hack will be up tomorrow!
