Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it.

Actual level design ahoy:

However, over-decorating is a problem, especially if the player can't tell apart from what's solid/what hurts and what not.

This one I can certainly agree with.

There's a thing as too much decoration, because at some point all that decoration will stop looking nice and start being just awfully distracting.

Mario is a pain to draw
I'm not sure if it's the problem he mentioned, but it screws with Layer 3 a bit.

The ghost chase does look unique, although because its on Layer 2 (presumably) the ghosts will still be animated, right? It would seem very weird if they are not animated.

Anyway, it looks good. Nice palette, by the way.

You forgot to close a quote
Mario can stand on the sun now? Is he overpowered or what?
Arctic Abyss
Cool Cavern
Siberian Shelter

Love the palettes by the way.

There will be a load of secrets in this thing. This is just one of them.
SNN has said before that he prefers two at most.
Thanks.

The level has multiple pathways, so I don't think it being too long will be a problem. More like... replayable, I suppose.
I really like the orange glow coming off the lava. Does it exanimate?
More things. Almost done with the level, just one short section and another fun secret.

Those graphics are delicia.
Fun Gun Factory

Also, I'd like the desert remix to play during the desert section.

Me and SNN talked about this a few weeks ago and we considered scrapping the hub. At this point in time, only one person has stepped up saying they will work on it, "...in a few months when I'm done with my projects". Yeah. I'm not waiting that long, sorry. So at this moment in time, we are thinking of just having a room with a jukebox, (since Lui is practically done with it) then then using a good portion of the SMWCCoins to unlock world 9. Any coins found there can unlock some sort of bonus content and/or a few extra tracks on the jukebox.

What exactly needs to be done for the HUB? I'd be willing to do the level design and graphics if need be, considering I'm not particularly busy at the moment. The custom blocks for it were done, right?
I haven't encountered the last two problems you mentioned. Seems to be a timing thing... a bit unfortunate.

About the first one... I didn't want to go too much in detail, so "congeal", I thought, would be descriptive enough. If anyone else has got a better way to describe it, I'm all ears.
