Tip: Yoshi wings take you to Level C8 or 1C8. If you're on Level 0 and beyond, you get sent to Level C8, while if you're on Level 100 and beyond, you get sent to Level 1C8.

Hi everyone. I just back into SMW hacking and I finally learned how to use ExGraphics and add music. This hack so far has 3 completable levels, all which have custom graphics and music. Here is what I have made so far.

Ok. I just got Block Tool Deluxe and I inserted a SMB3 Brick block to Map16 0x200, I save and then load the rom into LM. When I go to page 2 in Map16, it appears as the default empty block with the "Cement Block" description. Is there something I did wrong?

Everytime I try to apply a ams patch with Xkas, it it crashes, or gives me a corrupted rom. Help.

I have been using the command prompt. It doesn't seem to work. I'll try the batch file though.

EDIT: I used the .bat file, but when I open the rom in a emulator, nothing happens. I applied the P-Bar Patch.

Never mind, I figured it out. It seems that it was the freespace. Thanks for the help everyone.

Thanks for the criticism guys. I have fixed cutoff on the overworld map and I have finished World 1. World 2 has 3 completable levels(One is a test castle level, #2 Wendy's Castle, but it is beatable)

When I enable extendes boundaries on my rom, Toad's Tool can't open it, coming up with the error "Not a valid SM64 Rom". I have expanded and patched everything necessary to use the importer and it works fine. Tried many different roms, all clean. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey, I have two very simple questions. (And I apologize for being lazy and not searching 18 pages to see if they had been answered.)

First off, how does one change the "Super Mario 64" Logo on the title, is there a specific tool for this?

Second, how do you make it so the game skips the Mario Head object at the title and go directly to the save file screen?

I'm having an issue with the "Vanish Cap Walls" texture behaviour. It doesn't seem to work for me at all. Any help?

it only works on walls, that are 90 degree to the ground like this |
it won't work, if the wall is / \ or _, as far as i experienced.


That's the kicker though, the wall is exactly at 90 degrees.

I tried it again and this time it decided to work for me.

Now I have some new questions. First off, is it possible to change the amount of stars needed to open a sealed door? Secondly, for some reason when I place star doors in my level hub, whenever I approach them, the game freezes. Any idea why?

1) Yes, it's possible with star doors and non-star doors.

2) No idea. Did you have left a non-existent object that cause the game crash?



1: Okay, how?

2: No, just the star-doors caused it. Everything works fine if I remove the star doors.

wow, something seems to mess with it's collision data.
however, the collision data for the star door and a normal door are (nearly, maybe 100%) the same, so just change the collision pointer of the star door. If the game crashes, if you come near to an object, it's most of the time the collision pointer or the geo layout (but you can see the objects, so it's the collision pointer!)

in other words:
at 219E08 write 2A 00 00 00 03 01 CE 78
instead of 2A 00 00 00 07 07 8E 14. After that it should work
you will need a hex editor for this!


Can you recommend a hex editor? I wouldn't know which one to use.

Hey. I've started work on my own tileset, and I want some critique. It's nothing fancy or special. (Mainly cause this is my first time spriting a tileset.) So far I have this. (Yes, these are ALL custom made.)




And then I am also working on this little guy!

Isn't that thread for SMW Hacks? These tiles and Mario are for anything, really. I'm just doing this for experience, not for a SMW hack.

Also, thanks for the heads up. I changed my avatar instead. Hope 1px too big isn't a problem.
