I think the main selling point here is that its open source and that anyone can improve upon it and make it better.

So what you need now is a team of people who will split up and tackle different aspects of the problem.

Let one person work on EXanimation and EXgraphics

Let someone else work on sprite stuff

Let someone else work on block stuff

and so on.

Divide and conquer is the only way this will be a true competitor to Lunar Magic.
I have lots of idea for hacking projects for SMW. Some are ASM, some are hacks themselves and some are ideas. Where can I make a thread where I can just talk about my ideas and such so that I have them in an organized place and can get some feedback from other users.
What I'm saying is which section in the message boards is okay for me just to make a thread and work and talk about stuff. Just my own thread so I can have my own space to talk. I may not be working on a hack, but may be working on idea or resources and such.

Sometimes people are picky about where to post stuff. Like they would say "this isn't the right place to post this" LOL.
You don't have to have a SNES to develop for the SNES. Do you really think that everyone that makes a SMW rom hack has a real SNES?

There are many high end SNES emulators that you can run on your PC and you could probably get away with making a full game and never running the actual code on real hardware. Of course if you did make a full game you probably would get a friend to run it on their flashcart just to double check.
Does everyone see this image of a water molecule right here?

I am going to make this into a custom boss with pseudo 3D effects where the balls overlap each other and such. Kind of like how Vector man looks on the Sega Genesis.
When is the deadline? I know we had 1 week to do this but I wasn't able to complete my entry and am still working on mine. Thanks.
Technically you could work on a game forever so to speak.

But I do say, its also important to set goals, such that even if its not "finished" you just say its finished just to move on.

Like you can make the goal of: at the end of 2021 you just publish the game and say its done no matter what.

But games are also strange, if its really going to be the best hack ever then okay take your time since it will be a work of art when its done.
So its late at night at my house and its super quite and I click on the website link I hear with my speakers on loud:

HERE WE GO

and it wakes everyone up.
I really like the Terra Diver track.

Have you ever thought about making an NES album and putting it on a real cart. I've seen lots of music people do this recently.
The "prevents HDMA from getting disabled AFTER a message box has been displayed" patch is very cool.

I think my my own hack there was this issue. When the message box popped up then the HDMA gradient background disappeared. I guess I could re-patch my rom with this, but then my download counter would also reset. So too bad I can't update my hack without having my counter reset.
I really like the Modernized Romi's VWF Cutscene tool. Can you load custom sprites in it instead of just vanilla sprites?

Also how do you trigger these cut scenes. Is it after you beat a particular level?

This is an excellent way to tell an actual story and such. It would be great if there was a way to make sprites and such act out stuff like in FF3 or Chrono Trigger.

Can you talk to an NPC in a level and also trigger this dialogue?
That Jurassic Park game........ OMG

I had that game as a kid and all I remember doing was exploring, killing some dinos, picking up different guns, picking up some eggs and cards, entering some buildings and going into FPS mode and that was basically it. It was as if I didn't even think the game could be beat, but rather it was like one of those SIMS games or something. A game were you just explore until you get boarded with it. I swear that when this game first came out that probably very few people actual beat it. (the days before the internet).

All of those songs are stuck in my head too. Someone should make a hack and re-introduce the bone crushing sound when the T-rex gets you.
