The clouds above let out their fury in the dark night, lashing cold rain and wind at any soul who dared step outside.
A cloaked figure still bravely walked on, unshaken by the weather that showed no mercy on him. He arrived at a small cottage near the town. A small fire could be seen inside, most warm and inviting.
The man looked at the cottage for a brief span, before deciding to knock. The door opened almost instantly, and he walked in.
As he did, he threw his now soaking wet cloak on the ground, to reveal a kind, yet firm face. As he saw the occupants of the cottage, he began to smile, and then let out a great, booming laugh.
"I wasn't expecting you all to arrive here, not on such short timing! What a pleasant surprise!" He said.
"Of course, brother! We are always here for you. Now what's this about the General wanting your capture I'm hearing of lately?" One of the 4 other persons in the room said.
"Aye, we would really like to know what made you call us here when we could easily be sleeping in our warm beds, without a care about the damned storm that rages outside!"
Another laughed out, walked towards our now uncloaked traveller on the back and gave him a slap on the back.
"Well, brothers, the reason why I called you here is no laughing matter. I have reasons to believe that there is going to be a great War soon."
The room fell silent. Even the fire, which seemed to dance and crackle merrily in it's place, seemed to quiet down to hear what the traveller had to say.
Spaur stood behind the crowd that now covered Nekona and what seemed like her new companion.
At first glance, Spaur looked menacing enough for most people to steer clear of him. He was tall, very well-built, and had sharp, piercing black eyes, which always were a quarter closed, so they seemed like they were constantly leering.
Those who had joined Nekona's rebellious guild knew much better. For them, Spaur was the most friendliest person they could know. He was respected and loved by everyone as much as Nekona.
"He doesn't seem like what she had told me her Apprentice would be. I hope he proves me wrong." He thought in his mind. But for now, he quietly looked at the new companion his sister had found, and smiled when the two looked at him.
Who knew what was to come.
Nekona and Kurito were flooded as soon as they entered the other hideout. Reynold soon disappeared inside the crowd. Kurito had somewhat of a hard time managing all the people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the Apprentice.
"Kurito, this is my group! Well, I wouldn't say group, because all of them are more like family to me!" Nekona managed to tell Kurito after they had quietened down.
Kurito looked around the new hideout, and instantly caught eyes with a tall, muscular man who didn't seem as interested in his presence as the others were. The man simply smiled at him, which Kurito returned.
As he did, the he began shaking violently. He felt the ground slip beneath his feet. Hr tried to let out a cry, but it never seemed to come out. No one else seemed to notice the huge earthquake that had suddenly come up, not even Nekona. He began shaking more and more violently..... it began going dark....
And he woke up with a start. His mother was standing beside his bed, looking very irritated.
"Kurito, do you even know what the time is?! Now hurry up and get ready for school! And you just try staying up late again!" He heard.
He actually was late for school that day, very late. Somehow, Yuki had still arrived before him.
He could only wonder.
--- Shree-sama's thoughts after the chapter ---
Hey everyone! I'm (semi) back into writing now, because I got a lot more free after my exams are (semi) finished!
Anyways, yeah. We get introduced to yet another character, Spaur. He's a really decent guy, and gave his interview without a single hassle.
He apparently likes the children in the group best.
Yes, the next chapter will be in Kurito's world. How did Nekona wake up before Kurito? How did she get ready in record time? That's all answered next chapter.
---Cid Yoshi's thoughts after the chapter------
Well, this was a short chapter, for a good reason; what Shree just said. This was 100% written by him this time, and that's good, because it's his story mostly.
Yeah, I know I've ben neglecting Tales of Draws Lately, but that should change soon enough. And well, expect more posting soon enough.
Makes much more sense to have a level themed in gingerbread to be an amusement park. Otherwise, we would need a quick explanation of the Paradian geology. Lol.
That level in the original was very fun to play. You said it had little to few changes, so that's cool. Means you are keeping a fun one mostly the same. I guess some gimmicks where changed a bit to add difficulty, but that's ok. And of course, graphics are much better.
Hope you find a nice music for the level. The last one was awesome, but I guess is time for new. I have faith you will make the best decision (or not (kidding)).
Well, I would call the comparation a 5/1 in favor of the new style.
Sicari looks much more mature and badass in the new way. Her "giant" head... is kind of off now. Back then it was awesome, but now it's put in shame. The rock shining below her in the old is cool, but doesn't make up significantly against the new one.
In the second part, the new version is much more detailed, and details win it. I'm not saying the old one was bad at all, but the new one seems more techno, and cooler for the matter. Also, the atmosphere feels better.
Ok, the Rainbow palace is trickier, but the new one won it again. I love the bg of the old one (even if you think it sucks), and the tiles are cool too. But the new one seems more... ealistic, and it has better shades. I will go for the new one.
And to keep that coming, in the next one the new one wins too. This one was close too, though. I like the brightness of the old one, and everything seems A-Ok. HOWEVER, the contrast to the new one with everything being new works fabulous. The shades and the atmosphere works better now.
The next two look almost identical (save some shines here and there) with the blocks, so what wins it is the bg. And who won? The new one of course. It's much more detailed, gives better atmosphere ovrall, and looks much less empty. Amazing job.
And finally the last one. HERE is where I preffer the old one, but slightly less. The lighter colors of the old one looks somehow nicer than the new one, and the whole idea is funnier (although new one makes more sense). It also looks slightly tastier back then, lol.
But as you can see, new means better overall. Keep it up!!
