You can't never go wrong adding trees to a tileset, that's a fact. Unless well... the tileset is one wheere trees would just not fit. But you know what I mean. Trees are always a nice detail when they can be added. And I see the details on the wood and all. Seisy :3!!
And yeah, thr BG looks a bit less dark. Not bad. You need to lighten things up sometimes.
Ok, if people don't think your hack is not original now, they are retard. Making a map like that is an amazing idea, and barely ever seen!! You get kudos!!
Now I think some things could make it look even more awesome. First would be border, which you will do anyway.
The other would be adding details to make the map more like it looks. For example, it reminds me of the old treasure maps cliched a lot. Why don't add details like if it got dirty, o slightly burned? As if it was old. I would like that.
Wow!! Niscura finally looks like a complete true evil deity!! She has all that goes on her!! The ravaged hair, some dark and powerful looking eyes (those eyes are amazing), something to show how dangerous she is (her nails), skimpy clothing. She has become a true villian, a true darkness. A true BADASS!!
And also... how better way to show how badass you are that allowing the heroines to continue doing her foolish acts of trying to stop her? SWAGcura indeed!!

Anyway, I love the purple of the sky. Sunset skies are one of the most beautiful things in the world, and the choice of colors you chose is excellent. Doesn't help K-16 is in some screenshots as well :3.
No issue with loosing the goal bars. They seemed off before. I think the new things are better.
Well, I already saw the happy color levels. They are as cute and tasty as always, and it adds so cool to the game.
NOW for the night level...
Now this is a nice contrast. Not becaus the game looks creepy and weird now (it's still cute), but having another atmospehere is alwaysa welcomed thing. I really have to say, the graphics are already the big point of the hack. Hope we see more gimmicks later on.
And a night level now. Night levels are always my favorites, because they put an atmosphere I like a lot. It's some sort of a combination of badasness to play in an adventure on night, but at the same time, it also gives a beautful sight (usually).

When I played the original hack, I was amazed of how different and amazing a SMW hack could be. Then K-16: SoS came and... literally moved me inside. It was a masterpice I could say. Graphics, story gameplay... all was great.
And now... a remake of that hack that started it all is here... and is... not like most remakes. Is better, cooler, and BADASS.
Eevee... you are a master with this. I hope you continue amazing us all in the future.
