You can also smooth single edges by pressing ctrl while erasing them.

This is a very nice hack! There's just one minor issue: when using Project 64 2.1, the game crashes whenever I go and punch the tree where Hoot lives...It works fine when using PJ64 1.6, so I guess it's a compatibility issue.

I guess so, the game has been tested with pj64 1.6, so better play with that.

I would personally change the mapping of the bricks between these arcs which to me look too warped, i would go for standard mapping there.
You also added a shadow.
Did you make it with alpha transition?

These mushrooms also fit well, do they always face the camera or are they static?

enable transparent alpha layer in the level settings tab of the level importer. this way, every texture with alpha channel will look semi-transparent in game.
