The regular ground (those used in grass levels and so on) tiles do not work with the switch palace tileset. The proper objects are located in Tileset Specific Objects (under #lm{objects}). There will be objects that have switch palace beside them in brackets. Use those.

You could create an ExGFX of the grassland tileset and copy and paste the switch graphics there. The only problem is that it will use op some tiles used by slopes and stuff. If you really want to use the yellow switch you would probably have to remap the switch object using the Map16 editor (#lm{16x}). Sorry if this isn't too clear, I don't know how to explain it any better.

tbh It's kinda really flat. Also, the enemy placement could be better. I feel as if some may be useless, like the sliding koopa in the begining. Also what's with those linked pipes near the end? I can't see any reason for them to be there.

idk It does somewhat remind me of MGU2. Can't say much about the level design, other than some onjects/sprites look randomly placed without much consideration (like the munchers in that forest level). The graphics are kinda clashy, but that's not much an issue.

It's quite nice. The text is not hard to read, unlike alot of layouts I've seen. It's not cluttered at all. Nothing is terribly unfitting either

I'm not 100% sure, but application that uses directX is designed for one specific version. I don't know much about DirectX, so anyone else correct me if I'm wrong. I run them alongside each other and I haven't ran into any issues. But then again, I'm not that much of a PC gamer.

I'd suggest you do some reseach about it.

e: The two versions use seperate libaries stored in seperate locations. There shouldn't be any issues at all.

Don't expect positive from this, and don't expect your hack to accepted either. You also shouldn't ignore the advice of others. They only want to help out. It's not their job to give feedback fyi.

Don't be discouraged by this. If you choose to ignore this, whatever. But don't think you'll get anywhere by "being too lazy" to produce quality projects.
