I'm not sure how obscure it really is now, but Gimmick! has a fantastic soundtrack.

Also, Leisure Suit Larry 3's soundtrack seems really obscure, probably because it's a late 80s computer adventure game. Two of the best are Nontoonyt Island and Cherri Tart.

Crash Bandicoot 2- Adding to what Eevee said, collecting certain gems can be very aggravating for just how much they require. Cold Hard Crash is definitely the worst. To get the box gem, you have to reach the end of the death route and then turn around, without collecting the gem at the end, and backtrack through the death route, dealing with the ice physics, pits, and smashers, just to hit a few boxes near the beginning of the death route that are activated after hitting a switch near the end of the route. Of course, you also have to make at least two trips through the death route to get both gems in the level.

It was either a Paper Mario or Super Mario RPG playthrough back in 2006/07.

...or did I watch those videos on Google Video? Does anyone else remember that, 'cuz I barely do.

I think that it should go the other way. Meaning in fall, you should move 1 hour ahead, this way it is lighter for longer during the day. In the long run, it would probably save millions in not having to turn your lights on so early

Yeah, the earlier sunsets in the winter have always bothered me. Especially here, where it's usually cloudy this time of the year and the sun sets around 4 PM by Christmas.

Looks like a "Sweet Victory" superbowl tribute may be a possibility.

It's worth remembering that one of the reasons SMW has been so extensively hacked is due to it's simplicity. Other 16-bit games like Sonic, DKC, and Yoshi's Island have more interesting levels and beautiful graphics and music, but aren't nearly as customizable for hackers as SMW.

I was expecting nothing more than a fun, decent movie and that's what I saw, maybe even a bit better than that since all of the main performances were good when I was only expecting that from Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz. I enjoyed it, but don't plan to see it again for a while.

My favorite is Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but if had to choose one that was released as a single game, then Sonic 2.

I love carbonated beverages, but nowadays I mostly drink flavored seltzer water to keep my weight down (and my teeth intact.)

When I do drink soda, I usually drink Pepsi or Mountain Dew (either Code Red or Original).

I don't think it's just fans of the 16-bit era, since I see more people praising the mid 2000s Sonic games nowadays more than anything.
Though I guess the fact that he had a bunch of comics and animated series also helped.

The mid-2000s is significant for Sonic because it was when the first truly bad main series games were released. Up to 2005, every main Sonic game had been well-received (games like Sonic Heroes and Sonic 3D Blast had mixed reception, but still positive overall). Then, Shadow the Hedgehog was released in 2005, and the terrible Sonic '06 and buggy Sonic GBA port came out the next year.

Sonic had been declining as an icon ever since the Sega Saturn had failed outside of Japan, but I'd say that the fact that two major Sonic games (especially Sonic '06) could be just plain bad was major blow for the series. Nowadays, Sonic is still popular (and still an iconic character in the West, but not nearly as popular as Mario anymore).

1) Granted, but now you constantly need new stuff because your possessions are being stolen, lost, or destroyed everyday.

2) Granted. You're framed for a crime and sentenced to several years of house arrest, leaving you with all the time in the world.

3) Granted, but your significant other and any potential sexual partners now inexplicably find you repulsive and leave you.

1) I wish that Pluto were still a planet.

2) I wish lions suddenly reappeared all over their historic range in Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

3) I wish gold became as common as aluminum.

Super Mario World and Sonic 1, both on their original consoles

I feel like it may just be a design resort to add distinction to the maps.

That's probably the best explanation. It's just an aesthetic choice, to add some variety to the overworld.

Without big dots, Vanilla Dome 3 and 4 would have been two mere yellow dots in a row, which is something that never happens anywhere else. It would've been actually hard do differ between the two levels in the map (honestly, I still get both mixed up), but since 3 is a big dot, you can easily remember which of the two is the big-ass skull cave when revisiting there.

That's not true at all, there's plenty of consecutive yellow dot and red dot levels in the game. Unless you mean two yellow dots on a straight path, but in that case there's levels like Yoshi Island 2 and 3, and all the Special Zone levels.

International travel. I was looking forward to a Baltic Sea cruise that was scheduled for last August and included stops in every country on the sea. Obviously, it got cancelled.

I saw Sonic 2 last week (and had the entire theater all to myself, which was nice.) It was pretty good, better than the first one (which I also enjoyed.) Great to see Knuckles added to the cast, and of course Jim Carrey was fantastic; speaking of Jim Carrey, I really hope he comes back for the third movie.

One of the admins is actually Kim Jong Un and he orders a certain number of executions daily depending on how often the P-switch was pressed during the previous day.
