While I find it nice that they credited me I am however not the actual author of the utility. All I've done is created the front end. There was a big reason that I didn't want the front end uploaded since it disallows me to have it automatically updated when I fix bugs in the front end. The version that is uploaded on the site is two years old and has the really stupid alpha bug in it. It will not allow any texture that doesn't have transparency in it or any bmp that is not 32bpp. The new version that is in my dropbox does however allow this. The new version in my dropbox also supports RGBA32 and GA8 texture formats. I also wonder who made that readme file for the utility as I never made any readme.txt file in my utility. My utility is distributed as just the exe as it has all the other needed programs included in it. Its also completly wrong as it implies that the only supported formats is a 32bpp bmp. The frontend included nconvert which allows it to convert that bmp to other formats such as png and tga files.

Because of this, I am now stating that my frontend can be distributed but only via link. I really hate having multiple "new" version of products as it only causes confusion and users who have old fixed bugs. If they come across some tutorial or post refering to the new features they'll only be confused as to why they don't have that. Come back to this site and get the old build, and still be confused. Please take down my utility from this site. If one wants to talk about the utility they can go make a thread about it with a download link to my dropbox.

Hmm that's a bit odd. When you run the exe it should automatically unpack 4 programs to the folder location of where N64Rip.exe is:


Then after doing that the Frontend itself should start running and you'll get this:

To clarify, N64Rip.exe IS N64Rip.exe, all of the code is in the exe you can download by itself or in the zip version. It won't extract another copy of itself. I do however agree with the antivirus thing. Some antivirus programs are really stupid and see any program packed in UPX (which mine is) as a virus. I'll go upload an normal non-packed version and see if that helps. Note it will be twice as large.

The only difference between the zip version and the exe version is that the zip has a readme.txt file and the exe. If you were really having trouble extracting the exe from the zip file just go for the exe download.
