The first one is fantastic, the texture on the arms and the thickness and darkness of the lines makes it a truly creative and original piece. Hahaha that robot's in overdrive, nice. The third one... oh the nostalgia it hurts, very well done, I love the look of it.
On the topic of Black, I found a new band (one man act, kinda like Burzum I suppose) called ColdWorld that has an album out, it's really good. That, and if you haven't checked out Sunbather by Deafheaven I'd recommend it. They blended shoegaze with black and the album has a really interesting sound.
Just to ask, anyone listen to Gorgoroth? I like their first two efforts with the vocalist Hat, but none of their later stuff.
Also if you'd like, have your friend skim through these videos as they show how to insert the files into lunar magic and insert them with the 8x8 and 16x16 editor (although Lunar Magic is much easier to use now than it was then).
I'm looking at a pretty chill Christmas this year; I got my girlfriend a gift and my parents and friends some little things, that's about it. I have a tree in my house and I'm gonna spend Christmas Eve with my family. I asked for a few presents but not too many cause I never really want that much, so besides that, once Christmas is over I'll probably forget I had it since I live in an area with not much snow.
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you were pretty influenced by Death Grips, especially with your holiday username being their second album title, when you created this... All in all, this noise is noise, but it is some pretty good noise at that. I'd suggest adding some live drums perhaps... It just feels like something is missing in your songs. Like, I want to nod my head to the beat but I can't because there isn't really something there to help me with that, you know? Unless you were going for that sort of thing.
Oh and good luck on the EP, I'll take a listen to it if you upload it.
I'd really like it if we could get the graphics section moderated because a lot of the stuff I used before is in the waiting section (I rather liked the old layout too). Also, WoI seems to be deader than how it was in the old days. I feel as if it's being moderated out of being fun. Just my two cents, I know my join date is new but I've been here for a long time, believe me.
This collab idea sounds really awesome. I think it'd require a hell of a lot more work from the judges but I it'll draw more attention from the community. This is the perfect thing to get people interested in events and contests again.
I've gotta say, I think I really like to make chocolate hacks that are heavy on the graphics and light on the asm, but I love playing and making puzzle hacks the most. They, to me, are what re-inventing smw is all about.
Less than 5 percent of this website's registered users are actually active... Even in 2010 (I checked with an internet archive) about 20% of the users on this site were active, with a much smaller staff team as mentioned before. The staff team now is too large, and with WoI shit-canned I think there is less moderating to be done.
And to add to a point brought up before, the public-relations staff team isn't really doing much. I liked SMWC on facebook and I've noticed that the posts get 0~5 likes each time. A community this large should at least get in the double digits.
