Good news, if you restore the wrong point you can always go back to a future one. So try all of the restore points until you have your level back to the way you want it.

EDIT: What I was saying before is that if you revert to a previous restore point, you can still go back to a new one. Basically the same thing as an UNDO/REDO button except there's a log to help make things easier.

Yoshi's Island, without a doubt my favorite game as a kid and always will be for a long time. Since I was really poor growing up, it was one of two games I had (SMW was the other, I just didn't like the music or graphics or gameplay as much). I constantly challenged myself to get perfect scores on every level and this is pretty much what started my whole Nintendo obsession as a child.

A few years later, I got a gameboy and got into Wario Land and of course Pokemon if you couldn't tell already by my Layout, but yeah, Yoshi's Island was that game for me.

So here's what's going on:

Any time a sprite is destroyed by lava in my level, this weird garbled nonsense comes out instead of the normal lava bubbles. What's going on and how do I fix this?

Which sprite bank do I change to GFX 03 in order to get it to work? Any of them? I have no experience with Sprites so I have the faintest clue what needs to be done.

That never gets old

I remember the first time I played it, when I was like 13 or so. I couldn't believe how dark someone could make SMW; it rustled my jimmies pretty hardcore that night.

1. Huge HUGE drama with a girl early in the year that left me depressed for a while
2. Summer sucked after I came back from Japan
3. Didn't get arrested, and I'm not gonna say what happened, but I ran into a little trouble with the police
4. For a few months had terrible grades
5. I misplaced the necklace that my brother (long since passed) gave me and accidentally threw it away

I've never heard of Trelldom, so I searched them up... they've got some high-rated stuff on Metallum, but I don't see the clear "stand-out" album that I usually look for when I find a new artist. Care to recommend one of their albums so I can take a listen?

When you find a value that works, open the .asm file of the patch, look for the message that says something like:


Change the $xxxxxx to the value you found earlier. Revert back to an older copy of the ROM you're hacking (via Lunar Magic's restore points) and re-patch the file. Should work at that point.

I sure hope this game has mechanics similar to Melee. Brawl was too.... heavy.

On the ice level, consider getting rid of the black dots on the corner of this tile:

It looks more like plastic and less like ice with those things.

But, you've got a really nice hack going here. I like the graphics and the slight twist on the vanilla style. Keep up the good work!
