Hello everyone, I've come across this site a few times but never thought about registering. I still have much to learn about this stuff so that's one of the reasons I joined. I have a large project in the works for Super Mario 64 and already running into issues, and another project that's not related to Super Mario 64 that I'm hoping I can share here.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and sharing my projects.

About me: Likes sports (hockey, basketball, bowling), art, graphic design, music.
Ok, I'm running into some problems. I'm starting to get my rom hack set up and putting the hub worlds in and the levels into the rom. I tried replacing Castle Grounds with my own hub world and whenever I start the game, Mario falls outside of the hub world instead of the Mario start area. I have enable death floor at bottom checked when I import it into the rom.

Also none of the objects like doors and enemies are appearing in the hub world (replaced castle grounds) when I play the game, but they do show up in Toad's Tool 64?

You have to set Mario initial position before importing the hub. (It's in the level settings tab). When Mario first enters the initial level, his position is not given by the Warp (Mario Start) object.


Ok, thanks for the help, and now I'm trying to make objects appear into the hub world, but they're not showing up when I play the game, I have the star acts selected for those objects.
Hello, I need some help, and I asked this question before but no answer. Whenever I place let's say, a Goomba into my hub world with Toad's Tool, it doesn't show up when I play the game, and other objects won't show up either, and I replaced the castle grounds. I have the star acts activated for that object.

I'm not so good with the Hex stuff.
I'm trying to pm a staff member to get my name changed, and I have no idea how to. Are there any requirements you need to pm someone or to get your name changed?

How do I fix this? Mario goes half way through the wall. He also can't grab edges, or do wall kicks.

I'm going to have to give this a try. Looks fun.
Got it fixed, thanks for the help, and I don't have pro, just the plugin.
Donate half to charity and to my family. Rest of it I can spend on a car and I would go to college and a vacation for the family. Whatever is left I would get a new computer and maybe some video games.
Hello, I'm not exactly sure why this is happening but the hub world was working fine, but now Mario goes right through it, or he floats in mid air. I tried everything to get it to work.



Also, how do you link two warp pipes and can I also increase the star count to 300?

try not to center your level, that often screws with collision data. for warp pipes, look at how the original did it.
you cant just higher the starcount to 300, youll need to put new levelIDs, hex edit every levelscript together, import over new locations, resize the EEProm and rewrite some readfunctions.


Looks complicated, but I'm willing to try it.

I got it to work again, the level was never centered and wasn't the cause of this to happen. I think I changed something in the layers in Sketchup that messed everything up.

Can someone confirm this? I heard you can get banned online if you keep attacking the same player over and over, unless it's a 1 vs 1.
This is getting a bit frustrating, I'm getting a white screen after choosing a file, I replaced the castle grounds with my own hub level. I have Mario's initial position checked. Not sure what could be causing this, could it be too many polygons? What's the maximum number of polygons I can have in a level, and where can I find how many polygons I have? I'm using Sketchup.

Looked all over that log file and can't find the number of polygons.
Think I found it, not sure though. It says Startface = 12,134 Endface = 12,726, NumFaces = 593
Your doing a good job on this. Can't wait to see more. If you're still looking for names for that level, how about Fortress Wildlands. Only one I can think of at the moment.

You can put a couple of Koopa shells on top of some tree stumps to help Mario get across the level faster, or maybe the shells can be required to get a star.

Got the level working again, but now Mario dies instantly, and whenever I try to add another model in a certain area in Sketchup, I get collision issues. But when I delete it, it works fine.
Did that and Mario still goes through the floor, and glitches everywhere else. I don't think this can be fixed again since I deleted the model object that was causing this happen before, but now it's not working at all. I think I'll just redo the whole thing. I already have ideas for a better hub, what can I do to avoid this from happening again?
