I'm using the custom lightning sprite (lightning2.asm), and everything seems to be working just fine, but the background doesn't flash. I've been trying different level modes, BG colors, and BG GFX but the flash never comes, just the noise. How can I make the flash appear? Thanks.
Finally figured it out and now it's working properly, flash and all!
Thank you for the help! I'm pretty new on the custom sprite scene, so thank you for putting up with my foolishness. #smw{:TUP:}
Super Mario Bros: Peach's Adventure is a SMW ROM Hack I've been working on for the past while.

Story (Still working on it):
Princess Peach (Toadstool) is found unconscious outside of Toad's House, far away from her Castle. Toad takes her into his house to let her recover. Upon waking up, Peach discovers that the pipe back to her castle has been blocked up by Bowser, who has taken over her castle while she was away. Soon after setting out for her castle on foot, Peach discovers that Bowser has kidnapped Mario, and plans to use his power to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, and make Peach his Bride. Peach, not having any of that nonsense, decides to stop Bowser and rescue Mario!

This hack's art style is styled after SMB1, SMB2J, and the SMB1 Theme in Super Mario Maker, though I won't always be following NES-style color limitations.

Worlds:
World 1: Sunshine Plains (Finished)
-A bright, grassy area, typical World 1 affair.

World 2: Thwomp Ruins (Finished)
-Ancient, overgrown ruins, now inhabited by Thwomps, thwimps, and chain chomps (and features a level heavily based off of Hyrdocity Zone)

World 3: Frigid Peak (In Progress)
-A cold, snowy area, where goombas and koopas are covered in snow and piranha plants have to wear scarves and hats to keep warm

World 4: (Either a City or a Beach world, haven't decided yet)

World 5: Giant Jungle

World 6: Factory World (Unnamed)

World 7: Mushroom Kingdom

World 8: Lunar Lair

World 9: Coin Heaven (In progress)
-First levels of many Mario games, with a golden coat of paint and ridden with coins.

(The reason there appears to be 1-UPs in the reserve box in the battle screenshots is because items in the reserve box don't display properly during mode-7 boss battles. I think it's because I'm using LX5's Custom Powerups Patch, which overhauls SMW's powerup system (Super awesome patch, may I add). I'm still trying to fix it, though I'd like to get rid of the reserve item entirely, and the Hex edit to get rid of it doesn't seem to work for me.)

Anyway, that's what I've been working on, hope it looks alright!

Try the Demo! The overworld map is temporary and doesn't represnt the final overworld.

#tb{:]}

(Hopefully this post is alright, too, this is my first time making a proper thread) #smw{:peace:}
I will be putting out a demo soon, hopefully tommorrow #tb{:]}

Though, the overworld is very temporary, I plan on making a proper overworld after I've made most of the levels.

Haha, thank you! I do have some videos, on my youtube channel (they're a bit earlier, though)

Thank you for the feedback! I'll try my best to work out all of these kinks and release the fixed demo as soon as I can! Thanks again! #tb{:]}
In the ROM Hack I'm currently working on, I have Alcaro's autosave and Ladida's Overworld Counters patches applied, and for the life of me, I can't get Yoshi Coins to save. I've been trying to figure out why, but I've come up empty. Help would be much appreciated.
Oh, alrighty! Thanks a bunch! #tb{:]}
I've got another issue now, help would be much appreciated once again #smw{-_-;}
So, the SRAM Plus has worked great, and Yoshi Coins are now saving properly...for the most part. Now when I change music or samples using AddMusicK, certain levels have their yoshi coin flag already set on a fresh file, meaning that the game thinks I've collected all the yoshi coins in a level I haven't even played yet...I've poked around the files of the overworld counters, MarioE's SRAM Plus, and AddmusicK but I haven't been able to find a cause...If it helps, some levels it happens on are 05, 07, 0D, 10, and 11. Thanks again #smw{^_^;}
It worked! Oh my goodness thank you so much! So glad this site has a community of such helpful people! #smw{:TUP:}
I'm having an issue with editing the overworld map that seems to have come out of nowhere. Whenever I make any edits to the map, I won't be able to move at all, even if I move a tile away from and back to it's original position. I thought it was an issue with my ROM at first, but I then tried editing the map on an older backup in which editing the map had worked just fine, and even then I couldn't move. I then tried deleting and redownloading multiple verisons of Lunar Magic, and those didn't work either. I'm a bit pressed for things to try, help would be wonderful, thanks a bunch #tb{''}
Whoops, I forgot to mention that I've already tried that as well, but thank you #tb{''}
As stated above, getting 1-UPs via mushroom crashes the game. But also getting Starman crashes the game. Hope this can be fixed! #smw{:TUP:}
In sram_tables.asm, it is mentioned that you need to disable the game from clearing certain addresses when loading a save file. I added the suggested value to save Lives, Coins, Powerup, Item Box, and Yoshi Color. After a while of poking around the forums, I've found a couple patches that keep the game from clearing some of those adresses that seem to work for other people, as they're usually followed by a thank you or something similar. But whenever I try them, they don't seem to work, even after I add more bytes to SRAM_defaults. When I disable clearing coins, nothing happens. When I disable clearing lives, I start a new file with one life, and the lives still don't save afterwards. When I disable clearing power-ups, the game just crashes and bugs out upon loading a save file. I have LX5's 'Custom Powerups' patch and p4plus2's 'One OR two players only patch' (one player) on my ROM, if that helps. Help would be much appreciated, Thank you #smw{^_^;}
Yeah, sorry, not sure why I didn't do that in the first place #smw{^_^;}

This patch disables clearing of Lives, Coins, Powerup, Item Box, and Yoshi Color:
Code
org $009E21
	STZ $13C9
	REP #$20
	BRA Skip
org $009E4B
	Skip:

This patch disables just clearing coins:
Code
org $009E2F
	NOP #3

This patch disables clearing powerups:
Code
org $009E42
	NOP #4

This is what my sram_table looks like:
Code
sram_table:	dl $7E1EA2 : dw $008D
		dl $7E0DB4 : dw $000A
.end

And here's my sram_defaults:
Code
sram_defaults:	db $00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00
		db $00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00
		db $00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00,$00

Hope this helps, I'm pretty incompetent when it comes to ASM.
Alrighty, so now, I've made sure to apply only first patch, and I have applied the edited SRAM Plus (once before and once after just to be safe). I played a level, got some coins and a Fire flower, finished the level, saved, and rebooted the game. Upon loading the save file...I was small, had no coins, and nothing in the item box. Only my position on the map was saved. I should be using Asar 1.60 to apply both patches, right? Thanks again for the help #smw{^_^;}
It works great! My lives, powerups, and coins all saved! Thank you so much to MarioFanGamer and Thomas for helping me with this! Seeing the game actually save like I want it to made my day! #tb{:DD}
Just curious, is it possible to make killing enemies give you coins as opposed to points, akin to Super Mario 3D Land? Or maybe like the unused coin rewards from the wiggler glitch?
