I am currently working on a Sm64 hack entitled SM64 Adventures In PipeLand. This hack aims to include about 151 stars, completely original and complex levels. A demo of the game will be released early June, most likely the 16th, and include course 1-3, plus a bonus course. The game will also feature a new colored mario which will look much better than the original. Also, although I am new to these forums, I am not new to SM64 hacking. I have been working with hacks for well over a year now, and started development of this hack sometime during last year. Eventually I stopped work on it, and now, with new found knowledge of hacking, have revived it.

Nemu64: does not work. Upon loading the game, even with 8mb selected, you get an unknown bootcode error, the title screen pops up, then a black screen.
1964: works! 1964 plays fine, known errors include outline not visible on icons such as life and coins, and very laggy.

Yeah, i'm working on that. I plan on releasing a beta version after courses 1-3 are completely done. Then i'll release that, then a final version when everything else is done. And yeah, but i meant if you guys have music or textures that you made you want to see in the game, you can give a link here. Also thanks for the welcome :). As far as a beta release date goes, not sure. I have the first 3 courses planned, i'm just having an issue creating a good looking hub world. Once the hub is done i'll get the levels ready, then beta will be released.

Hello, I am working on an SM64 hack, and i just have 2 questions. I have been working on a 3 course demo, so far course 1 is complete, skfield. Every solid piece of land has an invisible wall around it. I want to be able to jump off of them and fall off the sides, as this course is mainly composed of jumping from flying island to flying island. how do i remove the walls? and for my second question, in peach's castle, i removed the locked door at the top of the stairs, and replaced it with a sliding star door that needs 24 stars to open. Since then, when i enter the castle through the left door, i automatically die, while I love when entering through the right door. What is causing that and how do i fix it? Also, when i walk up to the star door it tells me I need a key to open it, which i don't want. I want it to be able to be opened after collecting 24 stars. thanks!

Not sure what your problem is but I think its from the instrument list, you should change it to the NINST you made it in.

i tried making a scrolling texture and i used a bunch of different parameters, but the texture never scrolled.... what are some easy parameters to make it scroll?


ok thanks. I'll try and see if the warp is incorrect. If it isn't it's no big deal.....it will only be of an issue in the demo. I'll just put down a warning saying to enter the right door lol.
EDIT: couldn;t find anything wrong with the warp. When i go inside i appear in black room under a carpet and am just immediately dead. Also, 2 other questions. How do I import a new model for the coin, and I also want mario to have a specific color code in this hack. I want it to be automatically on that color code, not have to activate it. How do i do that?

Ok, I set up the color code to always be on. Only 2 more problems left i'm having. how do i replace the coin model, and how do I stop the left door to peach's castle from killing me when i enter it?

I just have one quick question. Course 2 of my hack is finished, and I used toads tool 64 to place the stars and whomp king. Red coins and red coin star are also placed. But the stars are set for the wrong missions. Getting the red coin star (meant for act 3), gives me the star for act 2. Vice versa, star 4 gives me star 5, blahblahblah. How do i set them for the right acts?

Thanks alot ethan! That really helped. About sphere is no actual sphere tool, but it's possible to make one. If you look up how to makle a sphere on sketchup there are videos on it. Not sure how sm64 would actually handle a sphere, since i've never actually used one in a level. But it is possible to make one.

Thanks. I know the flat areas are a bit boring, gonna spruce it up a little with enemies and coins to make it look better. And about the stretched textures, I thought the level importer 1.9 was supposed to fix those. I don't understand why it isn't, I guess i'll have to line it out myself on sketchup :/

copyright issues? it's not as if we are making money

Uploading the rom file is illegal, because of copyright issues. So you need to uploads your hacks as a .ppf patch, then when downloaded the receiver patches it to a sm64 rom. Same thing just more work. Uploading the rom is illegal because it's basically taking credit for nintendo's game.

It also happened to me, your textures are too small, make them bigger and it should fix it. Like pieordie1 said, a texture cannot be repeated more than 32 times on a face.

Thanks for the luck on the hack!

Just decided that I might release another hack I started work on before my 1 year break from hacking. It was a really terrible hack, not much changed at all. So I decided to patch it up a bit, fixed some bugs, changed some sprites.....yadayada. So for the most part, this small hack is ready. It is: Super Luigi 64! Mario is 100% replaced with luigi (thanks toads tool), even the life icon has been replaced with a luigi icon. All text has been changed to fit luigi. All the levels are the same as the original game though. My main hack (the one this forum is for) will be much better than this will ever be, just figured i'd release it because why not. It's about 90% done, just trying to work on a title screen, and replacing a few textures.

I do not know. I saw it on a Japanese site but they have not put the size. But do not try! I tried, it does not work. It has destroyed the ROM.

Wow. Maybe you made a mistake when impoting it with N64Rip? I tried exporting at a random size (32 by 16 or something), and edited it so it was just black and wouldn't show up. I imported it, and it was green on the opening screen. Rom was fine though. I'm not to worried about destroying the rom though, I'm using my test rom.

I've tried using PPF Studio to make a .PPF of an older hack I made as a test, and it keeps giving me the error; ERROR! Files are not equal in size! How do I fix this? The rom was extended.

New update! Course 3's design has been finished!
Screenshots will be coming soon. Right now I am currently working on trying to fix the MANY collision issues in the level. I even checked the faces having problems are only textured on one side. New updates will be coming once the collision is fixed!
