Hey there everybody, it's me, Jaden1291 the Toad. You might have recognized me from Mario Fan Games Galaxy which is also an affiliate with SMWCentral. When SMWCentral affiliated with MFGG, I joined the community in no time today.

I also play SMW hacks even before I joined. A few of my favorites were SMW 2+3 and Hack.

Plus, I play SMBX too. One of my projects that I'm working on for SMBX was Toad Goes to Outer Space. I'm also a member of the awesome SMBX community (as FutureNyanCat2014 or FNC2002).

I also have Twitter and YouTube accounts, and my own forum. Aside from being a fan of the Mario series, I also play Angry Birds, Minecraft, and Plants vs. Zombies.

I have so much to share with you, but I can't list them all for 1 big introduction. Hi there everybody.

Thanks Tahixham for the userbars this C3!

Currently I don't use Skype. But you can contact me via Twitter or YouTube, or via PM.

I saw the DJ Pon-3 animated GIF when I returned to SMWCentral, and as a result, I also did my DJ counterpart - DJ-den129-One, which can be viewed in my signature.

How about, changing the Question Blocks on the menu into Note Blocks, and the green ! separators into rainbow-patterned funky ! blocks. This might work for DJ Pon-3's dancing space.

I'm always up to browsing around several interesting SMW hacks (But I don't download them at all, sorry!), so that is considered as browsing in SMWCentral.

Plus: Sometimes, I browse the SMWCentral forums, too.

Track Name
Ulterior Boss Battle (Kirby's Dream Land 3 style)
Artist: Dave Harris/Iridescent Audio

The current one Crispy has made is less accurate to what the song sounds like, so I request for a higher accuracy version. The audio references are linked so you can compare.

Sampled?
Yes. This song will use custom samples, specifically the soundfont of Kirby's Dream Land 3.

Track Name: Ulterior Boss Battle (Kirby's Dream Land 3 style)
Artist: Dave Harris (Iridescent Audio)

Why did I request this:
The current one Crispy has made is less accurate to what the song sounds like, so I request for a version with higher accuracy that is much closer to the original source with corrected instrument volumes and notes. The audio references are linked so you can compare.

Sampled?
Yes. (Many)
Soundfont used is from Kirby's Dream Land 3.

Note Data Reference
While there is no proper note data/MIDI file for the original version of the song, I've provided the SPC of Crispy's port to use as reference. This is sourced from SMW Custom Songs' video, which I also linked here in the thread.

Eternal Flame is such a chill song, heck maybe a sad one, or a romantic one, especially the latter. So here's Atomic Kitten's take. This is a more upbeat approach to the song, with percussions that make it a banger to jam out to on the walk.
Eternal Flame cover [Atomic Kitten]

And here's the original, by The Bangles, which is much more calming and soothing. Now... do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?

By Astrakitu (FutureNyanCat) & TEAM STARSHROOM

The first ever SMWCentral C3 showcase of Team Starshroom's upcoming SMBX episode starring Captain Toad with his classic Treasure Tracker gameplay! Captain Toad: Prism Star Quest is an all-new adventure where Captain Toad sets out on a quest for the legendary Prism Star to give to Princess Peach as a birthday present. Featuring over 30+ puzzle-platformer levels, a modern take on the vibrant Super Mario World pixel style, and even cameo appearances, Prism Star Quest is a SMBX-made love letter to the original Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

Story

Features
Captain Toad: Prism Star Quest combines the "no-jumping" gameplay of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker & the "Captain Toad's Adventures" levels in Super Mario 3D World with that of the 2D side-scrolling gameplay of traditional Mario platformers. Guide Captain Toad across small puzzles and even side-scrolling ventures as you adventure to collect the Prism Star before Kuroku the Raccoon Thief does.

Worlds
Each world has about 4-5 main levels, and one extra level and a boss. There are eight worlds, each set in their own world map.

Screenshots
Featuring updated images unique to the SMWCentral C3, with more recent changes applied!

NEW CONTENT revealed for C3
1. Piranha Sprout
I'd like to introduce the return of a fan favorite! PIRANHA SPROUT from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is back! Sprited by me and coded by MegaDood.

There's also a blue variant as well, known as the Jumping Piranha Sprout, which jumps out as it shoots.

2. NEW BOSS - Corbo Chuck
For the first time ever, I'm finally confirming that there are gonna be a handful of brand new bosses in Captain Toad: Prism Star Quest. The first new one I'm revealing formally as part of the SMWCentral C3 is CORBO CHUCK, the boss of World 4 - Hoshiland Park.

Describing himself as the World Champion of the Hoshiland Soccer Championships, Corbo Chuck and his very own team of tackling Chargin' Chucks isn't afraid to put up a challenge against anyone who stands in his way. Unfortunately, Captain Toad's somehow roped himself into a championship match against Corbo...

Made possible through the combined efforts of Astrakitu & MegaDood!

3. VOICE ACTING SHOWCASE
Now this time with a more formal showcase thanks to the SMWCentral C3! As revealed way earlier, I've taken part in voice acting... and my voice is now being given to Kuroku the Raccoon Thief! I've also provided the voice for the system notifications in Malware-Me Mass Attack, but this one is pretty major since it now focuses on a character too.

4. Crossover level with Captain Toad Goes to Outer Space: Tubular Tunnel Detour
Part of World 3 is a brand new level that's essentially a reference to a past level I made for the SMBX2 Chocolate Contest 2021: Tubular Tunnel Fun. The latter is part of Team Starshroom's currently on-hiatus SMBX project, Captain Toad Goes to Outer Space, which is related to Prism Star Quest.

This time around, Captain Toad enters the Mushroom Pipelines (visited in Tubular Tunnel Fun) while on the chase against Kuroku. It turns out that to distract Captain Toad, Kuroku has vandalized a lot of the walls in Mushroom Pipelines, using graffiti to either taunt or mislead his opponent as much as possible. The Sewer Guard is looking to have him sanctioned on sight, so Captain Toad must try to stop Kuroku in the sewers...

The level name is a play on the original title of said level. The music used is also a remix of the Dadish 2 Office music that was made for the recently-released Daily Dadish by Thomas K. Young.

DEVELOPMENT VIDEOS
WARNING: These videos are based on older revisions of Captain Toad: Prism Star Quest, and may not reflect screenshots shown in C3.

Credits

I'm doing my best to credit everyone for the GFX and LunaLUA used in the screenshots, so if I missed anyone, please let me know! The full episode will have all the levels feature their own credits in text documents.

Always seeing this on Discord and finally it got showoff. Perfect, good luck man.

Thanks, I honestly liked working on this project a lot, even more so when it's a fun passion project with friends. C3 was a big opportunity for me and my friends to finally show Prism Star Quest to the greater SMWCentral community. Hope you're looking forward to it!

Look interesting, I also like this SMBX Project. I will make my SMBX Project at next C3

Hi Dispace! Thank you for stopping by! Really excited to make more of this project too.

Thanks Tahixham for the userbars this C3!

Ooooh, I love the simplistic art style of this hack. I'm interested in more Ninji adventures indeed!

Thanks Tahixham for the userbars this C3!

I'm surprised An Underlying Problem was finally ported to SMW, that's amazing stuff. I thought that'd be straight-up impossible at first considering how complex Jake Kaufman's compositions in Famitracker are.

Thanks Tahixham for the userbars this C3!

Just a simple request but I'd want to have a Prism Star Quest userbar:

Userbar text: Captain Toad: Prism Star Quest
Userbar size: Full-size userbar
Specifics:
Text color = #F7E19E
Text positioning = Right
Stripes = Facing left
Userbar images (NOTE: Cropped)

Thanks for stopping by! Captain Toad is my favorite Mario character by far, which is one of the main reasons why I worked on this project.

The future of SMB3 hacking seems very bright thanks to this. I actually didn't expect it to also be compatible with SMAS SMB3 and SMA4 too, which is a huge plus especially as SMA4 has lots of untapped potential for level-making due to its additional content from World-e.

How progress for overworld map?

Currently no progress, the main focus of the team is on levels. There are some features planned for it:
- Faster walking and climbing speed on the world map, much more akin to ones used in Kaizo romhacks, and it can be adjusted as well via accessibility settings
- Ability to open up the shop + quick warp menu after defeating the first boss, you can add items to your inventory on the world map this way.
- Ability to see Star Coin progress in a single list

Oh wow, Chanel N is ported, it's a nice song that I also heard from Infinitode 2! Great work!

Thanks Tahixham for the userbars this C3!

That recovery screen with the SNES9x error is hilarious, I never saw anything this meta in a SMW romhack before. :P
