1 - There is actually no real limit for coins, as long the game doesn't freeze or you exceed TT64's object limit. Just remember that the coin counter can't go over 999 coins and only 255 coins are saved if you collect a star !

3 - There are :

15 main levels
3 cap levels
3 hub levels
4 side levels (including End cake Picture)
3 bowser levels + battles
So you have 31 levels available, if you want more, you may need ASM or something like that.

2 - You can have 7 stars in main levels and 6 stars in every other area (except bowser battles because stars count as keys.)

So you have 15x7 stars and 13x6 stars = 183 stars maximum.
If you want more, you may need ASM or something like that.

NB : You can place single stars in hub levels, only if you use a Mario Start Warp as a "240 (get a star)" warp or the game will freeze.

I bet you've accidentally deleted the Mario Start object. If it's not that, the warp is probably out of bounds ^^

I love the "throwback to old times idea" (because I have actually a unfinished project like this) ! The reused levels feels really different, yet similar to the originals, and I bet there'll be some great non-reused levels ! I'm really looking forward to try this hack ^^

TUTORIAL : How to enable multiplayer in SM64 hacks :

You will need

- the ROM you want to patch
- the SM64 Multiplayer patch (I'll recommend SM64 Multiplayer 1.1)
- SM64 Importer 1.6 or below (for hacks made before Importer 1.7)
- a PPF Patcher (I personally use SM64 Importer 1.9.3)
- SM64 Importer 1.7 or above (for hacks made with Importer 1.7 or above)

1) Hacks made with Importer 1.7 or above


Load the rom you want to patch :



Then, go to miscellanous, tick apply PPF to ROM, load the multiplayer patch and click Save Selected Changes.



Override the music size restrictions (or else music won't play !) and click Save Selected Changes :



And finally, go to ROM settings, tick all these parameters, and click on Save Selected changes !



If everything is fine, then your hack is ready to play ! ^^

2) Hacks made with Importer 1.6 or below

Load the rom you want to patch both on the PPF Patcher and Importer 1.6 or below (DON'T CLOSE IMPORTER 1.6 !) :



Then patch the PPF with your patcher.



Go to the Importer 1.6 to Music Settings, enable then disable "override music size restrictions" !

If you want, you may tick all these options, but the ROM is already ready to play !

I've got a little problem about a course from a future hack : it takes about 7 seconds to load from a certain entrance, unlike other courses and other entrances. Here is a video if you want to see it :

It's really hard to make Eyerock work properly. You have to use the Shifting Sand Land object bank. Even then he'll probably always end up in an infinite loop of attack, not allowing the player to hit it. I just gave up trying to make it work.

You must put it in a certain position to get it to work (I can't remember it, but check Eyerok's position in Shifting Sand Land area 3 and place it with the exact same coordinates)

I'll suggest you to make your model a group in Sketchup and export it.
For some reason, creating groups in Sketchup allows using more textures and polygons (that was the reason I've managed to import a 6-textured title screen with 1000ish faces.)

Also, always use 32x32 textures ! I've heard other textures don't work with this.

(this is a stupid question.)

Is there a way to make the "select a star" menu play multiple music depending of the level you're going ?
for example, courses 1 to 5 play a certain music, courses 6 to 9 play a other music, and courses 10 to 15 play again a other music.
