So.. I just tried checking the site for the first time in what feels like forever... None of the hacks I've been keeping an eye on seem to have progressed, and... S.N.N. left..

I dunno where any related questions should be placed, or if they would even be fair.

So, a thought I had, (The probably not fair bit.) would it be a good idea to ask people if they want to make their hack a collab, so that they can be finished? Like, if someone decides they don't wanna work on one anymore.

Just saying.

Please pardon the eye.
Hey, I said it was my first thread for a reason!
Ehh... I'm not so good at designing yet!
It was intended more as an idea than an offer...

Yeah.. I can list names, but I'm honestly unsure of their status.

Of course, one of them is indeed Mario's Keytastrophe. I only really thought of possibly asking him after he left if someone could pick it up.

Also, there's the likes of Super Mario TKO, Escape From Level 0, Wario Back In Time, Yoshi's Inside Story, and Tale Of Elementia.

I probably forgot a few, and I know full well Tale Of Elementia suffered from usable space.

This kindness you're showing is much appreciated!

Uhh... Yeah.. This was more an idea to people who are unable to finish their hacks..
I personally, am in no position to make such a proposition right now, it was just a thought..

I probably shouldn't have posted this as a thread.

As for why I put it here... I didn't know where to put it, and this was labelled general discussion, so I put it here..

Please pardon the eye.
I'm finding myself interested in this!
I'm curious how you decided on the themes involved!
Looking forward to seeing the finished designs!

Oh, and, @ AlwaysANoob, your post background... What's it from?

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
So, this will work as a good replacement for ZSNES, in light of ZSNES being susceptible?

I have yet to get anything to work since leaving ZSNES behind.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
Oh! Yeah! I love ZSNES' interface!
...
I was shocked to find out about that exploit in ZSNES, but can't get anything else to work yet.....

I'm a little worried about ZMZ having the same issue though...

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
Eh, not really that simple.
Bsnes uses a different ROM format, so all my smc files are useless, Snesx messes up the music if I change scenes or something, and is unbearable to play on...

...Well, if ZMZ works without exploits, I'm good!

I'd have tried to find a thread that deals with stuff like this, but I dunno where I'd look...

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
...No, I appreciate your input!
....
Hmm, so, I guess most of my SMW hacks are around the 2009 range?
......
Any particular fix?

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
I was worried about that...
Does ZMZ work without having to fix the music stuff?

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
....Umm..... So it's just ZSNES, and nothing else that works with those hacks?
...............ZMZ is still a fail?
..........
...Not really pleasant news.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
...I don't feel safe with ZSNES anymore at all.
...
So, an older Snex9 would work?
.....
I'll try that!

(Edit, I just checked... I'm unsure what to go for? ........)

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
Hmm..... Any possibility anyone's working on a patch for the broken Addmusic?
......
All this is appreciated... I dunno the extent to which the sound is broken, so maybe an entirely vanilla hack would run fine.
...
Otherwise, guess I'll just wait to see what changes.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
"..." Is more or less a habit I picked up to be trailing..
I just type it as I think of what to say.

Less is more? . Umm. Pretty much all of my hacks are from the ZSNES only era. I think I've held everyone here up long enough... I just need to know what direction I should go in.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
I just looked, neither of the hacks I tried have a fixme tag?
...
Is there a better place for me to be asking about this?

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
I mentioned that cause the hacks are from, like, '09, and in the main section, no fixme tags, and the sound still fails.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
Hm... So this is where people are discussing fixing music in hacks?
....
I'm curious, why isn't there some sort of patch to convert more easily?

I can only imagine that it has already been tried and thought through.

Eh, I just find myself rather curious as to what making this so simple as a basic patch would take.

--------------------
Please pardon the eye.
Ah. I was thinking, because the songs are there either way, and the problem, from what I gathered, was a broken addmusic, an ips patch might do nicely.
...
But, if it were as simple as that, others would've jumped at this a long while back.
....
Hmm... Worth experimenting over?

I dunno jack squat about where to really begin, this is just me pulling an idea out for others.

I think a patch that completely removes echo from songs wouldn't be out of question though.

Regarding Vitor's tool, would it be too much of a stretch to make a tool that works with Vivi's that converts all these f=12 (and similar) notes into their whole note format? Then looping would be a lot simpler.

...I know little about these things, but, I doubt an experiment would be out of the question?

I dunno any policies or anything about any of this.

Protoblob, I'm afraid I can't answer your question.
I'm still very much a newb here in general.

I'd be at that point of asking "Oh, what do I do first?"

Anyways though, what would it take to make a patch to fix the addmusic stuff?

I was thinking in simplistic terms, but surely, there would be a way to patch the hack directly to convert the audio?
