The levels in your hack don't look interesting. It looks like you could just jump over everything. Here is a very good tutorial level design tutorial that among other things explains how to make obstacles more challenging.
Is this even a Kaizo hack? I think the difficulty should be changed to "Hard".
Both songs were a pleasure to listen to. I especially liked the relaxing mood of the overworld song.
I have already done and released a joke hack like that. It can be found here..

On topic: I thought about incorporating pseudo-3D elements in a hack. For instance you enter a pipe and the camera changes to first person. It's not impossible as evidenced by the fact that Doom was ported to SNES.
While I like the melody, channels 3, 4 and 5 (on the spc player) started to annoy me after a while. Try using different samples, changing the pitch or reducing the volume.
Inbefore at least 100 threads like this before the project is finished cancelled.

But seriously, what happened to the updates on the status of the project? I think they were a good idea.
Open OW editor #lm{ow}, then in the file menu there should be an option to load the title screen. You can also press F11.
I'm interested. By the way I had a silimar idea a while ago – each person adds a few objects/sprites (about 3) and can't modify or delete objects/sprites placed before. But your idea seems more elegant.
I hope it will be as awesome as the trailer. #wario{^_^}
To add more variety you could make some levels/sublevels vertical/icy/underwater/autoscrolling/with tides/layer 2 terrain etc. Maybe even a few gimmicks like in one level/sublevel anyone who claimed a screen must also delete one object from a different screen.
I don't know if this is a good solution but try doing something like this – substract Mario's position from the sprite's position and store it as Mario's speed.
Yeah, I'm a fan of your work. Your graphics are good and fiiting the SMW style. The levels look interesting too. Now learn to draw awesome backgrounds! #tb{:]} Also redraw the small muncher graphics, they don't really fit a playable character.
I have only played a bit of the first S"M"W. It wasn't very fun and had a lot of cramped areas and weird decorations. But this one seems better with nicer graphics and level design. However, I suggest you to redraw the pipes – they kinda stand out now.

(Also, why S"M"W2 isn't in the main SMW hacks section?)
I sometimes have dreams about twisted versions of existing video games or entirely new video games fabricated by my mind. Usually, I don't play them but I'm the camera (if that make sense) or the playable character. Some of them are Mario-related like that twisted version of SM64 that had lower-poly Mario (like in Mario Party). The objective was to collect objects (I forgot what they were) which had the same function of stars. I recall three areas: the first area was a garden at night, the second was some kind of grassland but with a tower in the middle and floating glass platforms (some of them were strangely bloodstained). The third was a huge and a really tall stage that had fiery background. It had green platforms and chain walls which looked like those from SM3DW.

I don't know what to make of it. :P
