Mario gets woken up from a nap and goes out for revenge. Kaizo light hack to be played in one sitting about 1-2 hours expected.
Disable Start Select: Lets players easily take power ups between levels and break them. I can skip a lot of game by taking yoshi or a cape into the other levels. Level breaks are not allowed in kaizo and many by themselves can lead to hack rejection.
Too Much Cement... cement is lazy level design. Star blocks are really weird as death blocks.
--Road to Risen Glory-- Glitched redblocks that act as coins, yeah we know blue coins do that, it doesnt look good.
Lots of sprite memory issues with chucks, mushrooms and the p switch just randomly disappearing. Skip the entire ending challenge with the p switch by carrying it and staying small.
Overall kind of bland for a kaizo hack. I was kind of excited to see what someone could do with the rope glitch, but I was disapointed that it was just climbing in between enemies the whole way. There are some neat stuff you can do though that could fit in here.
Entering the castle from the midway gives me this.
--Split Pea Soup--
Blatent Forest of Illusion 2 edit. We don't allow lazy design like this. All levels should be cleared and made from scratch.
--Shelluva Good Time--
2nd half of the level was pretty confusing. I ended up doing this then just running over the munchers.
Took me forever to find this even though you don't need it.
Weird block under triangle. Dissapointed
--Phunky Fresh Cave--
blatent foi4 edit... see Split Pea Soup above.
Can just shoot the enemies before you slide under or just wait to stomp on them with a mushroom... fire
Overall, needs a lot of polish in the aesthetics and gameplay department. There are some good ideas thrown around in this hack that I would love to see fleshed out.
This is just a demo. It isn´t perfect so far. Yet you can still get a good impression what the final result is going to be like.
This hack is modified with the sa1-patch. It probably won't run on real hardware or ZSNES. Hack has been tested with ZMZ and snes9x.
There´s no story or anything else interesting so far except these 8 levels (9 exits). I hope you enjoy playing them. If you find any issues write a comment, contact me via PM or mention it in the hack´s thread here.

fixme: - The Midwaypoints don't work on certain emulators. This issue is known for bsnes far. If it happens for you, too, please tell me, so i can add them here for the final version.

This hack is dedicated to the Twitch streamer and speedrunner who got 2nd clear on my first kaizo hack, Wahnthac. This game is fairly easy overall with a pretty good difficulty curve that I think new and experienced kaizo players will enjoy. This is also one of, if not the only kaizo hack to feature intentionally placed skips or in this case speedrun skips which are harder methods for beating a level which will save time during a speedrun.
Version 1.1: -Nerfed level 10 and removed cloud clipping. -Balanced the music volume for some levels. -Nerfed the final boss -Removed lag -Changed some message boxes -Fixed an invisible muncher in level 2
Version 1.2 -Nerfed Levels 9,10, and 14. -Removed a glitched sprite in level 13 -Nerfed a skip in level 11 -Minor change to level 12
Version 1.21 -Fixed a cheese in level 11
Version 1.3 -Converted all invisible kaizo blocks to visible ones. -Nerfs to the final castle -Some minor changes to graphics
Version 1.4 -Added a toggle-able input display suggested by the streamer this hack is named after. -Removed 3 levels to balance the difficulty a bit more. -Some minor changes to a few levels.
This should now be a fairly good starter hack with the infamous level 10 being no longer existent.
Rejecting for the midway not working correctly in the level with the line guides and saws.
Other issues I found -
Message box in the cape section not displaying properly.
Lots of wrong ground tiles used in the green cave level.
A simple Light Kaizo hack. quick short levels and nothing to advanced.
While the levels and setups were pretty decent for the most part. This hack has a lot of mistakes that add up very quickly.
Before I get into the levels. I have to say that the level names and the music didn't feel like they matched the level at all, it feels like just random music and names were chosen for the levels. Also the over world was very weird. You can skip over 50% of the game if you just go get the secret exit in the first level to the left.
There is just too much wrong for me to accept this to the site as is. I think with a bit more polish and play testing this could be a nice beginner hack for people to try out. Not every mistake has been pointed out so make sure you look around if you decide to fix it up
This is a demo for my upcoming hack Shellz. As the name suggests it is based solely around shell tricks The demo includes 4 shell levels, a switch palace, and Yoshi's house. Hope you guys have a good time with it and I can't wait to hear some feedback!
