That looks pretty cool, but may I suggest you take the point away from the end of the hat, and make it use different colours to the goomba, it will stand out more then.
A block/sprite where, when you it it from below it moves up to the next block space, heres an example:
----------------------O = Been hit twice from below
--------O---------O--- = Been hit from below
O-O-O---O-O-O------ = Not been touched
O = Block
- = blank space
And then from the top and sides, these can be stood on, this would be a great idea to create stairs, or to create your own way at getting through a level.
Not sure how hard/easy this would be to make though.
May I suggest not having the part where you have to be small mario, either that or make the little alcove which holds the yoshi coin about 3 or 4 16x16 spaces bigger, because if not mario will get stuck as super mario, but if you make the space bigger, with it being an icy floor level, you could slide under it.
In this screen it shows the different cacti that hurt/dont hurt you, as you probably guessed, the ones with the outlines hurt you and are solid, the ones without don't, and act like 25:
POW blocks (I'm not sure about these gfx for the blue block, I'l probably change them soon):
Cheers fella, I'm gonna go get some shut eye now, so no more updates for today, I'l be back to work on it tomorrow, maybe showing the first boss I started working on tonight ;) (But not giving away too much, ofcorse )
The first part, a golden hand that chases you down a hall way, he catches you no matter what, but the further you get, the more powerups or 1ups you are likely to gather. Once he catches you, it transports you to the actual boss room:
I havent imlpemented an actually boss in there yet, I'm probably going to either do that much later, to fit the story line, or wait until I can figure out a way to make a decent one. I've had a few ideas, but I can't find a sprite that just stays in one places that I can use as a boss and edit its GFX.
Lol guys, I'l try and get a demo out ASAP but I don't wanna rush anything yet so it may still be a while.
Heres a few screens of another random level, ofcorse using 1 way blocks =P
No sprites added yet, I'm sort of making levels a different way, I'm doing the level design on a bunch of levels first (Puzzles, etc) then going back and adding the sprites.
Reply to Reading: Don't worry, I base levels on sprites in areas, when I say I haven't got around to putting sprites in yet, I just meant not put them in the level, I have rearranged the level for parts where they are a key part in some parts, e.g. in the video earlier on you can see me using an edited thwomp to get the coins/heart.
Reply to most of you: Don't worry, I'l change the 1-way blocks, I weren't too sure about them either.
EDIT: The new one way blocks:
Before, they looked spikey because I wanted them to look broken so you can jump through the broken side.
