Hello, Alex. This is Eddy speaking. I beat Super Mario 2D Land yesterday. However, I ran into some more bugs. First, World +8-3 & World +8-4 each have 4 advanced coins instead of 5. As a result, instead of having all 410 coins, I end up with 408. Also, when I beat World +9-1 Finale, instead of taking me back to the beginning of the game, I end up with this:
Also, I felt like you should've never tried to change the music for some of the levels in the game, especially in World 5. Moderators these days WILL reject any hack contains bugs & glitches such as this. You've got to fix these errors.
Hello, Alex. It's me again. I ran into yet another bug. This time, I ran into a goal bar in World +9-1 Finale. This obviously makes the level unplayable. This is what the bug looks like:
Also, You still haven't addressed the advanced coin issues that are still present in World +8-3 & World +8-4. I pointed this out in my last post. It's important that these issues are fixed ASAP. Let me know when these problems are taken care of. Later.
Hello, Alex. This is EddyCartoon speaking. I finished beta testing this hack, & while most of the bugs were fixed, I still found some of the same problems (5 of them to be precise) that existed in earlier versions of this hack.
1.) The music for World+ 1-3 is glitchy, & stops as soon as I enter a pipe.
2.) The music at the beginning of World+ 4-1 is god-awful. It literally felt like my ears were getting raped over & over again by this garbage.
3.) You're still missing an advanced coin in World+ 8-3. I found 4 of the advanced coins, but one of them doesn't exist. Because of this, I managed to find 409 coins altogether. I used Lunar Magic to find the room (Level 9E) where the missing coin was supposed to be. Here's the location of the missing coin:
4.) At the beginning of World+ 9-1 FINALE, The SMW Castle Intro pops up just before the real level begins:
5.) As soon as I complete World+ 9-1 FINALE, instead of taking me to the beginning of the game, this happens:
I would really appreciate it if you could fix these bugs. Thanks!!
So I finally beat this game. I used the same version that I used before, and I beat it with no savestates, but I did have to use an Infinite Time Game Genie Cheat, and I think cheats are worse than savestates.
In this level(it doesn't really have a name, so I posted a screenshot), the time limit starts at 900 units. So I thought, "No big deal, that's plenty of time to finish the level." However, when you get to the Wiggler boss, the time limit resets to 300 units. You then have to fight three bosses, starting with a giant Wiggler and ending with Kaptain K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country 2 in that time limit. Unless you want this to be a big time challenge, I think that time limit of 300 units is just too low. One time the time ran out while I was fighting Kaptain K. Rool because I failed to hit him with one of the shells that he shoots out. Another time, I didn't miss him once and I killed him. He went up and was going into the portal (or whatever that thing in the background is) and the "boss defeated" music was playing WHEN THE TIME RAN OUT AND I DIED AFTER I'D ALREADY KILLED HIM!! That was horribly frustrating and I had to use an Infinite Time Game Genie Cheat to beat the level. Too bad you don't get anything for beating it other than bragging rights.
Seriously, I think you should increase the time limit to something like 400 units unless this is supposed to be a time challenge.
Well, it is the TRUE final challenge of the game, so expect it to be extremely difficult. It requires plenty of skill & patience. I was able to finish this challenge with 56 seconds left on the clock, so I don't have an issue with the time limit. Maybe you should practice this level some more so that you can get the hang of it like I did. The fact that you had to use cheats to beat this level tells me that you haven't fully mastered the game. A true master can beat this level on time without using cheats.
All of the links in this thread are inactive; where can I download this game?
If you find any bugs report it to me, on this thread or PM
Well, I'm still running into the same exact bug, but this time it got MUCH worse. Now I can't even access the World 1 Fortress.
At this point, my frustration level is literally through the roof. I'm taking a break from this hack until further notice. The moderators won't tolerate errors such as this & they'll reject your hack on the spot unless this mess is fixed correctly.
But i testet it with a New Save ram! And it works when I did that!
I have to check it out again!
Don't use the same saveram! Delete it and se what's happen?
Other people was able to reach world 4 so I think other player don't have the same problem yet!
If you do tell me!?
Well, I did everything you told me to do & I'm still running into the same problem again. I used ZSNES & SNES9X. I also even played it on a real SNES, & I still end up with the same thing. Those people you mentioned all have an older version of your hack that works perfectly.
Hey Alex, this is Eddy. It was a pleasure to beta test your hack & play it all the way to the very end. I have to say that this is one of the finest SMW hacks I've played in my lifetime. I recommend this hack for anyone who is a HUGE fan of chocolate Mario hacks! Thumbs up for this hack!
Well, if you've been following my thread in the art forum, this shouldn't come as a surprise to you, but I've at last managed to rearrange all of the original tracks from Rise to the Challenge. It's been kind of a long road to get here, so I'm glad to finally have this published. Feel free to give it a listen and share your thoughts here! Oh, and if there are any problems or issues, definitely let me know.
On a side note, I also continuously upload drafts for my WIP albums on my alternate Youtube channel, so check it out if you want to see what I've been up to lately!
These are some pretty nice tracks you got here. Keep up the good work, AxemJinx!
Hey everybody. Long time no talk. Well it's C3 and no better time than to release my recent projects.
Today's Release includes Magna Centipede's Alarm System
You know that alarm system in Mega Man X2's Magna Centipede's stage. It finally made it's way into SMW. Includes the spotlight that flips a switch off, a turret that drops like a Thwomp and spawns projectiles that home in on Mario. Enjoy Video
You know the enemy Gunvolt that appears in the intro stage, Storm Eagle's Stage, Spark Mandrill's stage and Sigma's stage in Mega Man X. Gunvolt's made their way into SMW. Spawns both the electricity that shocks Mario and the missiles Video
You know that annoying mini-boss in Spark Mandrill's stage in Mega Man X. Well, Thunder Slimer has made its way into SMW. Mine is a bit different than Capcom's but it does resemble that evil mini boss. Let me know what you think Video
You know Bit from Mega Man X3. Well, he made his way into SMW; however, he doesn't use his sword. Like the MMX3 counterpart, Bit shoots either fireballs or rings at Mario. The rings can constrict Mario and freeze him in place. Video
Friday/Saturday's Release includes New Snake Blocks
You know those snake blocks from NSMB2 as well as the other NSMB games. They made their way into SMW with this sprite. It is customizable so design as you wish Video
Morton Koopa Jr.
This is my custom Morton Koopa Jr. boss sprite. He spins in his shell, shoots spiked balls and when he lands he throws flames in both directions. After three hits when he rises he goes into his shell and homes fireballs in on Mario. Somewhat based on his form in NSMB2 Video
This is my custom Jigglypuff boss. Check the video out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwBr8RTbj5M
These sprites are awesome, dude! Keep up the good work!
It's been a long time, let's use this C3 opportunity to post updates on my hack.
As you may or may not know, Something else is the hack I'm currently working on. It is sort of like a sequel to Something. This hack is similar to Something in that each levels are unique and have different graphics/sprites/gimmicks. This hack have also new features like a new powerup, the athletic peach that allow you to walljump and double-jump.
While like year I posted a demo, this time it's only a trailer. And most of the levels show were already shown before, because there is some levels I don't want to spoiler. if I worked harder on my hack it would have been finished by now so I apologize.
About the progress of the hack, it is near the end. Basically all I have to do are:
-the cutscenes and plot related things
-translate it in english / french
And that's it. As I said in the video, the hack will be released on the last quarter of 2013. I don't know exactly when, but I'm sure I will finish it before 2014.
Don't really have more to say. Enjoy the trailer and wait for the upcoming release.
This hack is looking very good right now! Can't wait until it's finished so that I can try it out. Cheers!
