Hey guys; new member here. This site for me is home; I'm surprised it took me so long to find my way here.

Level creation is an art, just like composing music or painting a picture, heck, you essentially are painting a picture.

I could just sit for days appreciating good level layout...

Playing Mario Maker, which (especially now since it's new) frankly is a landfill of mindless level design, it really makes you appreciate good and creative level design and how we sometimes take it for granted. I'm definitely happy the game exists (it is essentially a God-send for me, and, well, probably everyone else on this forum), and it'll be exciting in a year or two when the diehards dominate the map rotation.

Peace! #smw{:peace:}
Guys, I was gonna attempt to recreate Bowser's Castle from Mario 3, and not being entirely familiar with the level, how do you access Door B, and is the room it leads to an underwater section? Never have really seen it utilized; well, I've never really seen anything but the Door D route utilized.

I've already remade that level

1. Its not underwater selection 2. You get to the grey area from the door A and C, door B just leads you back to the start point.

Plus if you are gonna remake level its better to fully play the original level yourself(especially if you aren't familiar with the level) than just stare at the map(and some maps can be inaccurate too) so that your remake doesn't end up being half-assed.

Thanks.

So it's essentially a troll room.

I'll definitely play yours just to see how you replicated some of the SMB3 features not present in Mario Maker.
Just played it; nice job. I think you missed the laser effect on one of the Bowser statues and I wonder if the Thwomp in the troll room is supposed to move left and right or if it just sits there to block you.

Overall, on Nintendo's behalf, this is one of the weakest and most disappointing final levels ever.

---

I actually went ahead and created it: 002E-0000-0231-58B4

It is still faithful and built nearly identically to the original, but there are a good number of changes that make this lame excuse for a final level in one of the greatest video games ever better.
This is so clever and so underrated; I thought I was a good level designer: DKC vs. King K. Rool

GameXplain goes and makes a stupid video on how someone made 40 levels which are meant to played in a row (something countless users have done), while levels like this will fade into obscurity.

- Mario Builder
- Super Mario Maker
- Super Mario Bros. X

Anything else hidden out there, or is Super Mario Bros. X the ultimate option for a simple yet diverse creation experience overall?

Apparently.

It's not by Pouetpu though.
Peeps on like Level Palace and the JP Mario Flash+Maker stage wiki still use it.

omg, I used to play this at school lol.
GTA Online is the ultimate definition of wasted potential; they created this unbelievably immersive world, but at the end of the day it's just a huge arena for a deathmatch... just play an MMO.
I didn't know this community looks at SMM as a bit of an enemy lol. I mean, it goes without saying that SMM2 looks fucking amazing.
I think the crazier thing is how it took him 15 min. to get to the point. #smrpg{:D}
Cheers mate! What an underrated gem.
