Tip: Entering a door or pipe, activating a P-Switch or grabbing a star, completing the level, hitting a message block, and dying will cause issues on the title screen, such as causing musical glitches, or trapping the player in an endlessly-looping level.

It's not n00bish, it's actually kind of complicated.

Assuming that you're asking how to change the big letters that spell "Super Mario World", you can use YY-CHR to edit those graphics. However, they don't appear when you're viewing the graphics in 4BPP SNES, so go into AllGFX, go down to where GFX28 & GFX29 {it will say (028000/036D00) next to YY-CHR at the top of the program} and switch your view to 2BPP GB. With a good palette loaded into YY-CHR, you should be able to clearly see which tiles belong to the big letters. Feel free to edit those as you please, as they will appear in the arrangement you see in YY-CHR when you enter the title screen editor. Just keep in mind that each palette contains only four colors.

Need any further help with that?

This could be one of many things, but does your level have no vertical scroll and does Mario start at the bottom of the screen? If so, you need to go into the Level Entrance menu and set the Initial Posistion to FG=C0, BG=C0 so that the screen starts where Mario is (you'll see what I'm talking about when you click on the button with a door & a 1 on it).

If there is vertical scroll already or the Initial Posistion is already set in the right place, then this doesn't apply and it's something else completely. I just had a feeling that that's what it was.

Um, I know it says that you can get help here, but this would be better in the Requests section, wouldn't it?

Anyways, if you open the sample level in Lunar Magic, I think you'll find what you're looking for.

Don't forget that you have to load the Map16 page.

To do this, choose a page between 12 & 1F in Map16 (0-F are for blocks and 10 & 11 are used by the game already), make sure that the Map16Page file is in the same folder as your ROM, and press F3 to load it, and F9 to save. If your BG doesn't appear right away, go to the BG editor and press Page Up and Page Down on your keyboard until it appears. This should work if you already took the BG from the sample level.

It's been a few years since my last all-nighter, mainly because I feel like crap whenever I wake up (and fall back asleep, and wake up, and fall asleep again, and rinse & repeat!). I rarely feel the need to do them, and if it's for work and not play I'm ususally too tired to do anything by 2 in the morning anyways (video games, however, do tend to keep me awake longer). If I ever do, it's for a party of some type 90% of the time.

I don't think these have been mentioned yet...

-How can objects/people stand on clouds? (aka water vapor, which is a gas...) (Many games)
-How can hundreds and hundreds of people, dogs, etc. cling to the outside of a spaceship along with their assorted items and survive a trip across space? (Toejam & Earl 2)
-How can pieces of cardboard with arrows on them float and then move towards the direction the arrows point when a monkey stands on them? (Donkey Kong Country)

Poor vision, probably.

When you touch an enemy from the side, why do you die?

Maybe I'm a bit too technical, but I always assumed that when you touched enemies on the side, they attacked you, resulting in damage, and that the game didn't have enough memory, power, etc. to show an attacking animation.

First you need to press Space to enter Counter Mode. Each of the bright rectangles is a counter. Use the Page Up & Page Down buttons on your keyboard to select a counter, and uses the arrow keys to move them (you'll notice that the graphics won't move, however. These need to be moved in Static Mode).

I wasn't sure whether or not to put this here or in WOI, but my right eyelid has been randomly twiching for up to 15 seconds at a time, and I have no idea how to stop it. Does anyone happen to know what does? I've heard that it may be because I'm lacking a specific mineral, but I have no idea what it is (and this is the first time someting like this has happened to me before).

I guess it's not really eating, but they say that breathing farts lowers your bloood pressure.

Nah, people would probably rate their enemies' posts down just because they hate them even if the posts are helpful. I think the only thing that can get away with ratings here are hacks, and even there we have downraters.

You used 6 16x16 blocks, right? Do they happen to be in a vertical column that's more that 4 16x16 blocks tall? If the GFX's boundaries exceed 4 16x16 blocks vertically, it will be forced to be saved as an 8 kb file.

That's just a guess though. I have no ideas after that.

Well, if you haven't already, try your process again, expect by copying each of the 16x16 squares seperatly.

You just need to block that front part to keep Mario from getting there in the first place. If you look at the original SMW, all of those pipes are blocked off in the front (plus the undersides of those pipes act weirdly too).

PLEASE i need help

Did you by chance load an older savestate for each of those playthroughs? If anything in the room Mario is in is changed, then older savestates (which still think everything is the same) will often freeze, glitch up, lose all of their sprites, and other stuff. Every time you change a room, you need to make a new savestate for it if you have one there that you are using.

You can use them to save your progress in the game, if that's what you're confused about, just don't use them midlevel when you're still making the level/OverWorld (for the reasons mentioned above obviously).

You'd have to edit the sprite with ASM in order to do that.

Is it in a place where a message box wouldn't work too well? I can't really think of too much with this problem besides ASM, which is tricky and time consuming.

The schedule makers screwed up a bunch of the schedules in my school, but here's what I should have if everything that was gone over goes through:

1st Semester:

Per. 1: US History
Per. 2: Conditioning
Per. 3: Biology
Per. 4: Chemistry
After School Sport: Tennis

2nd Semester:

Per. 1: Orchestra
Per. 2: Pre Calculus/Trig
Per. 3: Radio Broadcast
Per. 4: English
After School Sport: Track (maybe)

@Kristian: Lucky, you get a hockey class! I wish they had classes dedicated to one particular sport here (at least during school hours).

This game deserves more hacks, too bad the editor for it isn't very good.

Are you planning on changing any of the Mavericks at all?
