Oh, I know, I know, I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, I'm genuinely curious to see how this ultimately pans out is all.
A significant proportion of the initial wave for a2mt was from smwcentral, dude.
Fair enough, I suppose; it's just that among them was some people from over here too.

And I ultimately don't regret my decision!

But, that's a2mt chat, this ain't the place for it.
What I love about the name 'The Production Line' is that it brings up these images of soulless assembly line mass production, such as automobiles and other consumer goods.
Wait. Wait.

Wait.

Players are honestly supposed to be able to figure out that some p-switches behave differently when you run into them? Really? REALLY?!

They went with ASMT, and the second will be called ASMT2 as far as I know.

a2mt (a 2nd mario thing)

Actually, the obvious solution is to do what nintendo did, and call it

"Super SMWCentral Production"
Hahahaha, holy cow, AxemJinx.

Keep on trucking with these, man. I love reading these 'by level' dissections.
Apparently the level, when submitted, was non-cut-offy but something happened during the transfer.
Man, honestly most reviewers should concern themselves with actually argumenting their points instead of saying a bunchof nonsense, and then add a score that has nothing to do with what they just said.

Some of you are pretty great, but there are reviews in there who are just offensively awful.
But damn it ~~ MY PRECIOUS LEVEL~~

Seriously though, the only reason why I argued for restricting powerups in a sense in A2MT is because of the communal aspect of the project. When you do a whole hack on your own, it's simple enough to controle the distribution of powerups, and their availability, and make 'calculated risks' so to speak. But then, it kind of sucks when you make good level, a level you're proud of, but the level just before put an easy feather right at the end - or right at the start - with you being unable to do anything about it. Thing is, however, A2MT is a 'game' all about the indiviual levels. It's a game that puts the accent on the seperate bits of individuality, which is different than smwcp2 whom is supposed to be more like a "real game", so to speak. And in the spirit of 'a real game', you want to keep the experience as organic as possible.

I have no idea what I'm trying to say here, but, uhm, hmm. SWMCP2 has made the decision of being the most 'like a real game' as possible, as as such there should be very little filtering, or other attempts at segregating the experience. It has to ~flow~, with all the advantages and inconveniences that brings with it.

Honestly, the blue elite there is kind of lame compared to the other ones. Considering the typical 'order' of koopas, I'd give that shell ramming power to green, and find something 'more elite' for Mr.Blue that would put him in a closer tier to Mr.Yellow.
That's a pretty cynical way of seeing things.

I'd rather see it as constraint (being "forced" in a certain condition) being a source of creativity! Of course this depends on a given's person sense of creativity to start with, but you gotta give peeps at least a little bit of faith!

They may sound like a strange thing to say but... What is the purpose of making a change so minute that at a quick glance, you can't actually tell what is changed (other than the spikes) ? I mean, once I've actually looked at the image i've seen the details, but my first impression was 'what? What is this about, this is just those wooden blocks and those dumb crates and all that'.

I mean, I dunno, if you're going to change something change it in a way that's worth it?
It kind of looks the same to me, honestly. It's 'different', that's about it.
I don't see the point of going 'everything needs to be custom' when everything looks so similare to the original. It's an opportunity to actually explore and go all out, but apparently 'the same only with a fuzzy line filter' is enough.

Eh, whatever.
I guess I'm just weary, since a lot of the replaced graphics for the critters in the first game were in the same 'well technicaly they are different but honestly if they were the same it wouldn't change anything really visually'.

Nonetheless, I still don't see the point of having 'kinda really similare but in reality different, but only a little', even if it's one out of twenty vastly different custom tileset. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree there.
