Just for the record, Kaizo (the original) was meant to be played by his buddy without savestate, and the original niconico video series was indeed without savestates.

I mean, you just make sure you have rewinds that go down far enough and it's the exact same thing.

Nah, that's just the japanese way of playing romhacks for the internet. Japanese philosophy with entertainment is about punishing mistakes, not rewarding success.
You can believe it was faked if you want, but considering 13/f/cali did the first world of kaizo1 without any tools at all without too much trouble, and Maxxim did the 'get 100 star points without repeating a stage twice' without tool assistance at all, saying the kaizos are impossible without tool helps is a flat-out lie.

At least now you have found more respect for the difficulty, instead of being one of those 'Tss, Kaizo isn't hard at all' *plays at 3x slowdown with sequential savestates and rewind*

Totally. That's just a lame move, especially with a more polished hack like this is going to be.
I'm assuming the hack is going to get locked in the end, but it'd be awesome if we could scramble it if it does get unlocked, like the later Vips and others.
That secret exit is only avaible through what appears to be an exact copy of the yoshi house, except one single ground tile is actually a hidden pipe which you can only enter when small with a fireflower in reserve.

However, in show of good faith, I will try to do my best to play the whole thing once it is done. If anything, this hack WILL deserve it greatly.

We should have followed the idea of that one person that suggested a bunch of people work on a different overworld in parallele and take whichever had a good end product first.
It's not too late for that if some of you wish to alleviate the task from J's shoulders I suppose, though I don't know if he's in a trusting mood now.

But seriously though, I get the feeling now that if some of you want to help with one of these things, to just go ahead and DO IT instead of waiting around. Worse case, you have stuff ready for your own project or something.
Maybe I just missed, but if there is no last level what of the custom final boss/cut scene? A stand-alone 'final boss' level level? That could work honestly, some hacks have done so, and it lets it 'stand on it's own'.
