Tip: Linear levels aren't necessarily a bad thing. After all, most official Mario levels are fairly linear. Not logged in.

I want to edit Mario's walk cycle so that it doesn't use the standing pose at all and instead uses 3 unique poses. Does anyone know where his animation code is located or anything that may help me in solving this?

I think I know of a way, but it's not super simple and may be a bit overkill. You'll have to download the 32x32 Player Tilemap Patch and edit excharactertilemap.asm. You may also need some slight ASM edits. If you want me to give you more information, just ask. You could also wait for someone else to give you a better answer.

I shouldve mentioned I was using the 32x32 patch cuz I was looking at that exact file when i was researching this. Could I somehow relocate the standing animation to the unused slot in 8?

It's old and I'm not 100% sure it'll work but I know powertool can edit graphics and frames for existing power states including adding in new ones so maybe that might be something you can look in to.

Is there anyway to make this compatible with the 32x32 player patch?
