A few years ago I blew my chances with a really nice guy by being rude to him and not patient enough when he wasn't being as responsive to me as I was used to. I regret it as I felt there was some good potential there, but alas, you live and learn.
The 2010s was a decade of many life changes, particularly a lot of personal growth. It’s the decade where I really became an adult, even though I was technically an adult in the previous one.
I moved out of my parents’ house and into an apartment of my own, learned how to be independent, found a job that I love, became more social, made lots of friends, dated, traveled, and more. I feel this was the first decade that I truly lived and I have a lot of fun memories over the past ten years.
Y'all went balls to wall with them sprite-only and player-only solid blocks in this hack.
It was fun tho. Was pretty impressive to see how you could manipulate sprites to solve little puzzles and progress through the levels. Standouts would have to be the Boomerang powerup, Fire-Breathing Piranha, and Propeller Block levels. While every level had the same basic gimmick, there was plenty of variety to keep me on my toes.
So I'm considering a few trips for this year, including Frankfurt and Copenhagen.
For those who live in or have visited those cities, what are some fun and unique things to do there?
I'm a fan of quirky attractions. For example, when I was in Edinburgh I visited Camera Obscura & The World of Optical Illusions. Offbeat attractions, restaurants and bars like that are interesting to me so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be cool.
What would you consider the best day/moment of your life?
For me, it was the Saturday of NYC Pride 2018, specifically a pool party I attended in the evening. Large gatherings like that for me can be hit or miss given my social anxiety, and it did start out pretty nerve wracking because in the beginning, it was a lot of cliques just sticking to themselves. But as the night went on, more people showed up and I was able to interact and connect with a lot of interesting guys. There was one particular guy that caught my interest and I made the effort to talk to and connect with him, and for me that’s a big deal as the thought of approaching someone can terrify me.
Overall, seeing everyone in such a happy mood, being friendly and kind to one another was a great and powerful thing. It was a big deal for me personally for what I achieved in overcoming my nerves and insecurities.
While I didn’t leave the evening with any lasting friendships, that night will always stick out as one of pure happiness, not just for me but probably many others who attended as well. It’s as if the rest of the world stopped for a few hours and everyone there gathered and had joyous time.
