Recently I decided to start making my own SMW hack, and I started by making custom mario sprites. However, no matter HOW many times I tried, and no matter HOW many tutorials I used, I could NEVER get it to work! So I've given up trying to make the sprites myself, but I am determined to get he sprites into the rom NO MATTER WHAT. So I decided to ask all of you for help. If one of you could make my sprites into WORKING sprites in my rom, I would REALLY appriciate it! And I would also add the name of the user who does this for my into the credits of my hack too! So please help, and good luck! (P.S. I will probably have many more sprites that I'll need someone to remake, I just could NOT wait to get the mario sprites to work, so expect more sprites to be comming! And the luigi is just a recolor of the mario, but with green instead of red. The right side of the sprite sheet was suppost to be luigi but I never got around to doing the recoloring.)

Hello! I've been working on a custom MKW hack, and I only have one problem, but it's a big one, at least for me. I want to add custom music, but I have no way to make it. And there are a couple songs that I REALLY want to be able to add! So if one of you could help, I would be very happy! B.T.W my birthday is comming up, so I would like to get it finished before my birthday, which is on the 19th, but I can wait until the 28th, after then, it's kind of late, but okay. Here are the songs!

So, I've been working on a rom hack resently. However, the custom Mario palette I made won't work. Here are some images to help show what I mean:
As you can see, the custom palette is working in YY-CHR.
As you can see here, the custom palette ALSO works in Lunar Magic.
However, it doesn't work in the emulator. I've done some digging, and I've figured out that I have to apply a patch in order to get this to work. However, the code is WAY above me, and I have no idea how to do it. If you'd be willing to help me get the custom palette to work, I would be very happy! Here is the patch I'm pretty sure you need in order to do this:

Here is GFX32:

And here is the palette:

The row that the nessasary colors are in is row 9. Again, if you could help me, that would be amazing. Please and thank you!
[EDIT] In the files, the palette I used is called, "pal8" if that helps

I'm too lazy to put something here.
I was messing around with SMW rom hacking, and I decided to try and insert Clutterfunk by Waterflame into SMW. So I found a midi, altered it so that it would work (only 1 note playing at a time per channel, everything within the octave range, etc.), I converted it to a mml using Tinymm, and I then opened the mml file in MML Editing Tool. I ran the fix, but when I attempted to insert the song using Addmusic, it wouldn't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've tried so many different things, but nothing seems to work. Could someone please help me here? This has been driving me crazy recently. Here are the links to download the midi and mml files.

Opening the MML you linked in notepad, the first problem you have is the fact that there is no #amk tag at the top of the file. This would be the main reason why you can't insert the port, since AddMusicK requires that a tag is there to insert the file. Once you fix that, then the program will be able to give you more specific errors on how to improve the music. Also make sure that the file you're inserting is a .txt and not a .mml.

The second thing I noticed (and the thing that sticks out to me the most anyway) is the fact that what I'm seeing here doesn't actually .. look like you ran the MML Editing Tool fix? The channel indicator is all wrong - that "{ Ch 01 ===================================== }" nonsense is something that TinyMM does and I thought that Kipernal's tool was programmed to take care of that. Maybe you posted the wrong file. Change that whole string to just "#0", and do the same thing for any other channel you add.

Also, this is only one channel anyway. Not sure if that's intentional, so I'll leave it at that. Make sure you include the settings for the speed of the music, the instruments, and the other important details. You can read about all of them here, and in fact I recommend you read through that whole thing in its entirety if you haven't already. It's pretty useful and contains a lot of important information to keep in mind.

By the way, you should get rid of TinyMM. PetiteMM is a lot better and you'll get much more accurate results that way.

Actually, the midi was in fact 2 channels. Also, the guide I was using never mentioned to add #amk to the top of the file, so thanks for telling me that! So, I ran the midi through PetiteMM instead this time, put the mml file in MML Editing Tool , and I ran the "Fix MML File" thing. I'll fill you in on whether or not it works soon! Thanks so far though! :)

EDIT: So, Addmusick gave me a different error this time, which basically told me that a bunch of the notes were too high, which I can fix. However, it also gave me this error, "File: unk 2.txt Line: 1:
#amk must have an integer argument specifying the version.
File: unk 2.txt Line: 1:
Song did not specify target program with #amk, #am4, or #amm." Does anyone know what this means, and how to fix it?

So, I've been trying to make custom music a lot recently, but I recently ran into a road-block: I don't know the exact note limitations of Super Mario World. Like, I don't know what notes would be too high, and which would work just fine. If anyone knows, please tell me! :)

Ok, can you sort of translate that to how those notes would look on sheet music?

Ah, so that's why I was having so much trouble! I was using instrument @9, and I was so confused as to why notes that worked with other instruments wouldn't work with that one. Thanks!
