Make sure that the samples folder you are using is not in the "music"
folder as well. If that doesn't solve it, then you might've just forgotten to include a sample.

Tuning it by ear is pretty much the best way in my opinion. It's what I do anyways.
While I don't have any tips to help with slowdown, I do have an example of my own.

I haven't experienced music slowdown much in my ports, but in this port you can kinda hear that there is slowdown at random points in the song, but you can especially hear it near the end of the loop.
Hope this helps.
I'll nominate dansalvato's Tetrisphere - Phony port. The source song is really good and it's a really faithful port of the original.
Try this.

Tuning:
"chinese cym.brr" $FF $ED $00 $04 $40

For the song itself, try it at an octave of o3 and note c.
Huh. This is a nice update to the music section!
Also, I may have missed this in the announcement, but it seems like SMWC automatically detects whether a song uses lots of samples, or uses samples at all? I've looked back on my older ports and many others' old ports, and it seems like the site has adapted accordingly.
I never know what's truly gone wrong when I get this error, but when I get it, loading the BRR that's causing the problem into C700 then exporting it as BRR again seems to fix it.
14 years? Damn, that's some dedication if i've even seen some!

As Kieran and people have said and probably will say a lot, We saw this coming, seeing as how inactive you were. Congrats on the degree and the full time job and good luck with starting this new chapter of your life! I hope whatever you decide to chase after in the future is successful and will benefit you.

You'll be missed, Kieran. Good luck in life.
This is my first C3. Here goes..

I'm a SMW Music porter. I've been using AddmusicK for making SNES music for about 2 years, but I've only just got into porting music at a consistent rate for a few months (maybe even a year, I have no idea.)

Because I didn't prepare for C3 and just released songs as I went, I only have 1 song for this C3 at the current moment. Oops.

But, since I WILL be working on ports during this C3, If I complete them, I'll post them here. I'll put them on the music section when C3 is over. Sound good? Good.

Ports so far:

(MS-DOS) Epic Pinball - Crash and Burn: (Music Section Link)
(MS-DOS) Epic Pinball - Android (Shareware): (Music Section Link)
Mario Bros. (GBA) - Stage Theme 1: (Music Section Link)
(Unsampled) Chrono Trigger - Battle 1: (Music Section Link)
Pac Attack - Puzzle Pit Fight: (Music Section Link)
Jazz Jackrabbit - Boss: (Music Section Link)
New port! It's a port from the GBA version of Mario Bros. as seen in the Mario Advance series.

Mario Bros. (GBA) - Stage Theme 1

Been wanting to port this for a little bit, so I'm glad I have it ported. What do you guys think?
Hey guys, The SPC player seems to be working now for the Mario Bros. port. Sorry for the inconvenience!
