Hello there. I'm Nick Arcade (or Narcologer) the 18th year old Russian boy. I was keeping an eye for SMW hacks since my childhood, so after long practice in Sonic Hacking I decided to give a try SMW hacking too. Hope experience will be good.
It looks cool, although I personally do not quite understand why it was necessary to make a coastal line and mountains of different colors. It does not look great.
You can make full source code of the game, as simple and commented as possible, so that everyone understands what and where lies.
After I was hacking another game for a very long time through the source code, (and so the game could be easily edited as you like), it is a bit strange to see you are fine without it.

I already saw some of source code projects, but they seem so unpopular here...
Moving SMW hacking to new level of editing several versions of source code disassemblies (like Sonic The Hedgehog hacking) could fix all problems with misunderstanding of code.
But why this idea do not meet respect here? Why do you still use rom editors though SMW hacking is already 13 years old?
I think that it is not good idea to add custom elements in the game's beta you want to revive. Anyway, it looks very cool.
Here is my first experement in porting GFX from my Sega Genesis works to SMW hack. This is Magikoopa repainted in cute demon girl.
Also, new graveyard-themed stage, yay!
Hi there.
After 3 month of hard work Total Mario World (Demo 3) is ready. It introduces new world Dark Moor and all related with it stuff.
Hack length: 14 exits
Hack difficulty: Normal.
Screenshots:
Feedback about 2 world is needed, world 1 is same as in previous demo.
This time I tried to make a serious thing - 32x32 boss for use in future project.
To implement such a grandiose plan I did lots of modifications to Giant Ninji sprite by RussianMan, so credit goes to him as well.
This is not the final version of boss, project it's intended for has not been started yet, comments, ideas and feedback are welcome!
Ditto
This entry impressed me due to very lot of custom ASM and the fact that the boss and the player have changed places. Even player's controls had changed. Overused
Interesting multiphase fight with a stone head, but Ditto's advantages and annoying way of taking damage pushed him to second place. Custom
in my opinion this is what should be called "overused". Quality does not equal quantity.
New demo version of the SMW romhack Total Jotary World appears on C3. Its content has high fighting spirit and filled with challenging levels and JoJo refernces.
The list of innovations is as follows:
- Major graphics update; little remains of the original.
- Lots of new levels, some of which include tricky gimmicks made both with the original mechanics and new blocks, sprites, UberAsm and hex edits.
- At the end of each level there is a battle, from which you need to emerge victorious to complete the level. In addition to battles with groups of enemies, there are 6 unique bosses with fighting-styled intro.
- And also music, patches, overworld, enemies, etc.
Generally, this hack offers you splendid chocolate experience combined with tests of endurance and might.
I have played a little over half of the exits in the demo, and for the most part it has been an enjoyable experience. While the levels aren't super memorable, they make for fun plays. My favorite part about this demo was the ASM (specifically the bosses). I don't tend to look at custom resources that the site hosts, so I'm not sure if you made these yourself or not. Did you? Either way, good work! I'll be on the lookout for a full release!
Yeah, all ASM code for bosses (which have FIGHT-styled intro) was written by me, GFX was made by Eminus and Hartflip0218. It was such a nice practice.
I am glad for your kind words; thank you.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but if Communism dungeon was real in real life I would really go and check that out. Glad this SMW hack can finally let me live out my wildest fantasies! In all seriousness though, can't wait to check this one out!
