First of all, favorite level is the P-switch one in Kaizo 2, and favorite f--k you is the beginning of Kaizo 2, where you go to the goal and die immediately.

Back to what geno posted, at the level before Bowser? There's not many tips to give, except always try to stay in front of the platform. For the ON/OFF button with the invisible coin block, try to jump on the second one so that there's half a platform space to fall down through afterward. Also, jump left of the button, then when you're almost at the peak of your jump, go right.

Anyway, I got myself suckered in on this project too. You're looking at the new level designer and beta-tester. Yay...I guess...I'm also trying to get 29 seconds on the contest, just to make sure I win, so...yeah.

I've actually beaten the castle (w/o slowdown omg), and there is no World 2 or 3 yet. The pipe is broken. And by the way, the castle isn't finished either, according to the message block at the end.

...Unless I have an old version of the hack.

Personally, the boss idea still seems like a bad idea seeing how we don't have custom music and the other things we still NEED. However, if we do have it, maybe we could do like that one "game" did, and make all the Koopalings at the same time. IF the game could handle it (which it probably won't...)

Random idea I thought of when I was playing Mario 3 for fun. It's very gimmicky though, so bare with me.

Basically, you're in an ice world and the angry Sun from Mario 3 comes. Now you're in a rush, because the longer you take, the more the place melts (kind of like a really slow moving layer 2 going down or something.) To make it a little more realistic-looking, rather than just a falling layer 2, the terrain can change realistically (e.g. if the snow is flat, it can melt the corners more so than the middle)

If you take too long, you're transported to a timed water level (gotta get out before hypothermia kicks in, don'tcha?) Collecting fire-flowers add time instead of throwing fireballs.

After that, well...we'll leave that to whoever brings this thought into fruition (if anyone does). And sorry if someone posted a very similar idea to this one; I haven't really been able to read the entire thread. =-C

Thank God uNkNoWn is on the job; and it's going by really quickly to boot! It looks like we may have the compilation done yet (crossed-out because I think I just jinxed it.)

Also, how exactly would the "unlocking to final level" thing work? Every time you beat a level, the path-tile closest to said final level would light up or something? Because if you were to do the level that lights up the path-tile farthest away from the final level first, couldn't you get stuck?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if Jesus's YouTube name is "anonymousbl00dlust"? Because I had received a PM from him (anonymous, I mean) of playtesting a part of the final level that "might be impossible." I have a feeling he was talking about this part. Never got a response from him, though...

Luckily, I'm TAS'ing the hack, and I'm going to have fun making that part go through hell to do that part for everyone who's skipping it. So those of you who want to know what hell you AREN'T going through can see it through that.

Also, off-topic, but it's hilarious how fitting FirePhoenix's layout is according to the news of the evil-level-portion-thing.

Left is faster, but right is better. You have more momentum to get the springboard AND land on the block that way.

And as far as I understand, there is only ONE level; however it is about 7-8 minutes long. (Am not sure at all about the time, and neither is Panga. He just told me that 999 time might not be enough time to beat the level unless you reset the time.)

Oh, and Abyss of Pain was hell without slowdown for me. It's hilarious how easy it looks if TAS'd though (I should know, I've done a TAS on that whole hack.)
