Problem with Addmusic (any version)! Read on for information.

Anyways, you know that you have to "INIT" a ROM to get Addmusic to successfully... well... add music to said ROM. But when I do use INIT, it glitches most of the sprites to heck and back, and I don't hear the custom music either.

Anyone know a way to fix this? (Take note that I do expand the ROM first - in Lunar Magic.)
'K, turns out I was using a funky ROM. I tried it out on a different one, and the music slipped on like a glove. Go figure.

Anyway, the problem is solved now, and my hack is back on the road to completion. Thanks for the assistance.

(Also: you can expand your ROM in Lunar Magic by moving a few things around, then saving it. You're given a check box that will enable you to expand the ROM to 1 megabyte, if it's under that amount.)

Edit: I used Lunar Expand this time, so maybe that has to do with it.
Whatever the cause was, I'm happy to see that SMW Central is back on its feet. I have to admit I panicked a little bit when I saw that it was suddenly replaced with one of those atrocious domain-squatting search websites.
As far as I know, though, the Wiki is still down, or at least giving me an error message.
I've been working on a Yoshi's Island hack, and so far, it's been working out great, but for some reason the level stops scrolling after 11 screens (my level is 13 screens long, not counting the two extra screens taken up by the goal platform.)

Is there anything I can do to fix this?
The problem was that there wasn't any object on the screen I was trying to scroll to. It's fixed now.

But there's this other weird thing that's been bugging me. When I put a Shy Guy sprite on top of a pipe to get it to turn into a Shy Guy generator, the Shy Guys appear in front of the pipe, instead of behind it like they're supposed to. Every time I delete the old pipe and put in a new one (trying to adjust the layer priority with said pipe crashes EggVine), the sprite reappears on top of the pipe instead of behind it.

Nothing major, just a graphical glitch, though I'd still like to know what causes it.
OK, that worked, but now I have a new problem. Whee.

Near the end of the stage, I have a generator set up to spawn smiley balloons carrying torpedoes, as well as S1DA right before the Goal Ring to stop them spawning. But for whatever reason, they keep spawning even after I pass the generator, which can crash the game if Yoshi hits a torpedo after passing through the goal.

Does anyone know how I can get the generator-stopping sprite to work?
The tops are okay, but the stems are really grainy-looking. Not the best I've seen. Your overworld and grassland tilesets are really nice, though.
As mentioned, your title screen letters don't look all that hot. Decide on one palette for your text and stick with it, because otherwise it just looks really haphazard and thrown together, the "Koopa" part of the title in particular. (You should also apply the Classic Piranha fix patch, because red stems can rarely corrupt the VRAM, which is a Bad Thing.)

Other than that, it's looking nice, though I think the Muncher plant vines should be rooted to something, or at least extend off the bottom of the screen, if you haven't done that already.

You could try S1D9 (Stops Following Player) instead. I know it works for Lakitus, so it may work for those. If my memory serves me correctly, I'm not even sure if the original game used the balloon generator sprite - if I recall, it simply used the single spawn balloons. Because of that, there may not even be a "stop" sprite set up for it.

Just my input on it.

Stops Following Player doesn't work either...

Ehh, maybe I just don't know where to put the "stop" sprites to get them to work. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to use the single balloons instead.
A tip: Try not to post information on your hack unless you have at least one world finished, or as many as you feel will make your game seem presentable.

Your Ostro sprite is really good, though.
It looks very pretty and fun to play as a whole, except for the forest stage's palette. I second Uhrix: it should probably be toned down, because right now it clashes with the mostly black background.
1. Did you deliberately change the Monty Mole's palettes, or is their red coloring a graphical glitch of some kind? In any case, it makes their dirt red too, which really clashes with the foreground.

2. Make a better swimming animation. Not saying this one is bad, or even below passable, but right now it just looks awkward and stiff.

3. The Shy Guy's masks have this ugly black color that takes up most of them. This is apparently a common issue.

4. You might want to change "Mario" on the status bar to "Koopa", and "Mario Start!" to "Koopa Start!"

5. Speaking of the status bar, your item reserve box looks like Blargg puked on it. Maybe it got corrupted somewhere?

Maxx said pretty much everything I was going to say, level-wise.
Yeah, that's good. It matches the mushroom tops better.
I think that blue claw is a sprite-swapped Blargg, right?

In any case, this is looking very impressive. I love how you're drawing your own graphics for everything, it looks really professional. Keep up the good work!
Additionally, in the second room of Firewood Castle, you forgot a Candle Flame Generator, making the candles glow without a light source. In the area before, it's also possible to get stuck and have to kill yourself by removing the Throw Block beneath the door.
Is it okay if we use vanilla graphics in this contest? Sorry, I'm a newcomer to these things.

Nothing is stopping you from making a vanilla level if you really, really want to. Who knows - if your level design is solid gold, you may still do really well.

...of course, as previously stated, it would be pretty senseless to not use anything extra when you can use pretty much anything you want.

Considering how much I fail at inserting ExGFX, a vanilla level is essentially the only option. The only things custom about the level I'll make for this contest (because I do plan on entering) will be its music, maybe its palette, and of course, its layout.
You edit it with YY-CHR or another graphics editing program.
And keep in mind that it might still say it even if you're using a clean, American V1.0 YI ROM. It won't get in the way of anything, though. (Well, as far as I know, anyway...)
