Tip: Using Lunar Magic's "Change Properties in Sprite Header" dialogue, you can adjust the sprite slots in which sprites can spawn. For example, by using a sprite memory setting that doesn't use slot 07, you can easily prevent Reznor breaks in your hack.
Hi, I'm new here and I'm trying to change up the intro level.
I was planning on the intro be the level moving without Mario appearing, which I thought would work by put Mario on a high spot, make sure he doesn't move, fix the camera to not focus on Mario, and have the level autoscroll. Is this actually possible?
Disable vertical scroll (with the "Layer 1 (FG) Vertical Scrolling" setting under ).
Open the entrance settings under . Set Mario's entrance Y position fairly high, and set the Layer 1/2 initial FG position to be relative with an offset of +30 or more; this will place him just above the screen.
Add the autoscroll. The standard autoscroll is sprite F3 (although you can also add custom autoscroll behavior using this code with this tool).
I followed the steps of the ExGFX guide on here and I was able to input the background I wanted into the level but when I play the actual ROM the BG is garbage looking. I tried messing around for a bit but nothing has really worked. Any thoughts?
Edit: I figured it out, I didn't save the Map16 data.
Lush by Snail Mail was something I finally got myself to listen all the way through. Really helped me get through 3 projects and a test all in a week. I had known about the album since a few weeks after it came out last year but I only really listened to two songs off of it until a few months back when I started going through her other releases. Pretty solid stuff I must say.
Also Guppy by Charly Bliss. I got into them last year and loved their first EP, Soft Serve, and a couple of their singles of this record but legit didn't listen to their first album all the through until last week lol.
Title suggests the issue. I imported a thing for my ROM using the secret bitmap pasting trick and the palette is correct to the graphics but only on the editor itself. When I load it into SNES9X, I get different colors, presumably a different palette. I'm not good with this so bear with me.
It looks like you're using those graphics on the title screen? That actually has its own palette (at least partially), which overwrites some colors of level C7's palette.
An easy solution is to copy the colors over from level C7 over to the title screen. (You can edit it through the overworld editor; "File --> Load Title Screen".) The first two palette rows should do it.
Yeah I think thats the case. However it won't let me edit the palette in the title screen editor, says it's hardcoded by ASM.
Anyone who played Sploder in its prime years will really be taken back by this one. I wouldn't expect this one to be too hard considering this is a chiptune remix of the SMW overworld theme. Would appreciate it if it's made in the same 8-bit style as the original (for nostalgia purposes lol).
