Tip: When you're about to release your hack, make a patch first, patch it to a clean ROM, and then test that. This way, you are testing both the hack AND the patch. Not logged in.

Hi, I am very new to SMW hacking, I started looking into it about a week ago and had a mess around with LunarMagic. I have a PNG that i would like to use for the title screen which I (believe) I made compatible using SNESGFX but I am not sure how to now put it into the games title screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I've just tried this and I still can't get it to work. Am I missing some options in SNESGFX??

Right will try this ASAP, thank you
Hi, I'm still very new to SMW Hacking, and I've started creating a desert themed level, but what I am seeing in LunarMagic looks completely different to what I see in game.
Any ideas how to fix this?

I believe so yes, I will double check
I did not, thank you very much
Yes, that worked perfectly, thank you very much
I've just tried doing this myself and I'm struggling quite a bit. I cant seem to find the correct part to copy over.
Thank you, very informative, will try this as soon as I finish work!
Still struggling, sorry I'm very new to this. this is what I'm trying to add the whistle to but I am unsure of where exactly I'm copying the whistle to.

I was doing it wrong, that's worked perfectly thank you!
Hi, something I've seen a lot in ROM hacks is where you always start a level as small Mario, regardless of any power-up you may have had previously. How exactly would I go about doing this?
Also, if it's a similar thing, how does one cap the bonus score or just remove the HUD altogether?

Thank you!
Sorry to be a pain, but where exactly am I putting the code?

Thanks dude, really helped. One more thing, how does one insert this what Darolac said?

As for the first thing goes, you could try to insert this in gamemode 14 of uberasmtool:

Code
init:
STZ $19
RTL

And how could I add multiple ASM to the same gamemode 14??

Thanks guys!
Managed to get both patches working, thank you guys. Only problem I'm having is that when I go through pipes or doors in any level, it removes my powerup. Is there anyway to have this patch work only when starting (or finishing) a level?

Thank you
Hi, I am currently working on my first ROM Hack, I have removed the HUD and made it so Mario starts every level as Small Mario (regardless of previous powerups). However, this same behaviour happens when going through pipes and doors too, is there anyway around this or is this just something I'll have to work around?

This is the code I used by the way::
Code
init:
STZ $19
RTL

Thank you
Thank you, I will give that a try
Hi,
I am almost finished with my first ever ROM Hack and I've gotten to the boss fight. The boss uses a custom sprite https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=5699
and i have the pipe generator (https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=3308) to appear when all enemies are defeated. However, the pipe appears as soon as the fight begins.

Is there any way around this?

Thank you!
Thank you very much, will give this a go
I have seen a lot of posts about having midway points in sub-levels that don't work as it has to be on the starting level to work. Unless of course, using the Multiple Midway Point patch. I have downloaded the MMP patch and still can't seem to get it to work. I am not interested in having multiple midway points, I just want to add one to a sub-level so I don't keep getting taken back to the start of the level again. Could anybody help me with this?
Thanks
