Ive seen just about every thread, every YouTube tutorial, and I can't get any help in the discord.

I try to insert the song into AMKGUI, which it always gives me "Could not find sample default\00 SMW @0.brr" Is there something wrong with the .txt file?

That's unusual, it seems to be having trouble finding the samples from the original game - usually sample troubles come from people mis-placing the sample folders for the songs they insert.

Did you do anything to move or edit the folder that contains the default samples or TXTs that correspond to the music from the original SMW?

At first, it was the original separate music and samples folder. I would put a song in the samples folder, and AMKGUI would tell me that it's location is supposed to be "music\s\[songname]" So I changed the samples name to "s" put it in the music folder, and now it's giving me the error I mentioned above.

Yeah, you shouldn't edit the names of the folders that way. Just arrange your files the same way that the folders are set up already - put your .TXT files in the music folder, and your samples in the samples folder, and leave the original stuff be - you shouldn't be having those issues then.

Thank you so much, man. If I could hug you rn, I would.
If your making a ROM hack with over 20 exits, I'd suggest making 100-300 second levels. If a level is a bit longer, use one of the big circle entrances on the overworld editor.
I kinda tampered with the hex a bit, and now my title screen won't play any sound apart from the original SFX. Is there a way to reset the hex value?

We don't have to go checking every single page or forum post or thread to find them, do we? Because that seems impossible.

Only the real chads check every single page.
As a dude whos spent years playing Mario Maker, I've gotten used to pressing R to spin jump, and when I got into playing Kaizo rom hacks, I always changed my keybind from A to R. Do you think it's cheating? I just need someone to say out loud if I'm a cheater or not because that's just how I am lol.

Assuming you play romhacks on an emulator, you’re simply using emulator advantages.
I wouldn’t consider remapping keys as a cheat.

Thanks mate. Really needed someone to say it out loud
