Prefacing that I've been told this one isn't super easy, and that I would be perfectly happy with a significantly reduced/simplified version of this (perhaps removing the slower intro, for example, if deemed necessary) if that's what it takes to make it a good-sounding port.

Track Name: Black - Homestuck (By Toby Fox)
Sampled?: Porter's call! Whatever is easiest to make work
Audio Reference: Youtube
Note Data Reference:
MIDI (Download in Video Description)

Unfortunately the previous claim on this had the submission rejected. To be honest it wasn't exactly what I'm looking for as well (though I'm certainly grateful for the attempt) so I guess this request remains open, unless the previous claimer makes an attempt to resubmit? I'm not sure what standard practice is here.

Been 30 days since this, so re-bumping.

Another 30 days, so another bump. In this time I've learned to port, but I really think this piece still deserves a more experienced hand. Also, now providing a sheet music reference: Here!
Just wanted to chime in with my support for the Staff on this decision. I'm not hugely active on the forum side of the smwc community, mainly frequenting twitch and twitter, but I appreciate motions like this being put into place nontheless.

There was talk in this thread of this being 'pandering' or 'belittling' but I don't feel that at all. It would only be pandering or belittling if it were an empty motion, with no real intent behind it. Bigotry exists and has claws. Harassment exists and has teeth. It isn't false because you don't experience those things. This just helps protect others who do.
I would like to SUPPORT Invictus, GPW2 and Quickie World 1 & 2 as Featured Hacks.

While they may not be the most unique hacks in the world, Invictus and GPW2 both paved the way for a new wave of kaizo creators and more 'fun' level design within Kaizo, rather than primarily antagonistic.

Invictus took Storks as inspiration and spread the use of chocolate within kaizo, making a permanent impact on the level design philosophies of hacks to come afterwards. GPW2's choc-nilla approach also served in tandem to show kaizo creators that chocolate isn't exclusively evil. Both hacks did what they did with exceptional polish and a very cohesive structure.

The popularity of the two hacks, though not the most important factor by any regard, should also be taken into consideration. GPW2 and Invictus did massive amounts in terms of inspiring new creators, players and general participants in the community. I consider myself amongst that crowd. If not for those two hacks, I likely wouldn't have had my interest in the community sparked, and wouldn't have gone on to start working on my own hack and engaging with the massive Kaizo twitch community.

Quickie World 1 and 2 offer similar, though not identical, value to the SMW community. They bring in new faces to kaizo, give people a place to start on a genre that seems infamously inaccessible. While Quickie 1 is unpolished and has its flaws, it's those flaws that make it a perfect start line for a new player looking to push themselves and grow in skill quickly. For those looking to push themselves a little less and enjoy themselves a little more, Quickie 2 picks up the slack to deliver a far more polished, accessible experience.

All four of these hacks offer something of immense value to the kaizo community. None of them are completely earth-shatteringly unique, but uniqueness is perhaps overrated in comparison with quality and/or positive general impact.

I would also like to nominate Casio Mario World. Short and sweet, but among the hardest Kaizo: Light hacks on offer, Casio stands as an example of uniqueness in the hack genre. Its soundtrack and design are completely cohesive, and like nothing else in a kaizo hack.
At the peak of this is Pardoner Fennel, a terrifying, intimidating and awe-inspiring boss that achieves what many others have tried and failed, by accounts of all who have beaten her. Additionally, the hidden Omega Fennel, who offers a challenge only the best of the best players can succesfully triumph over, a new peak to climb to. Both bosses are accompanied by totally unique and original music, and both bosses are an absolute visual treat.

EDIT: Also, adding my +1 in SUPPORT for Jump 1/2. Everyone else has said enough on it, I think.

Hello friends! I thought it's time I finally introduce the SMWC community to what I've been working on- a little hack called Polyphony.

So what is Polyphony?
Polyphony is a music concept where multiple melodies play at once to create a larger, cohesive picture! Oh, you meant the hack? Well, Polyphony is somewhat of a hybrid- my intent was to provide a fun and fair challenge to players of all skill levels!

The hack has two routes- a 'Main' route and an 'Alternate' route. Beginning the hack, the player will find themself engaging in fairly simple Mario-style platforming. As the game goes on, the platforming will gradually introduce new, fun elements that are most commonly found in kaizo hacks, while still maintaining the difficulty expectations of your average Standard hack.

...Well, unless you decide to take it upon yourself to explore the Polyphonic Isles deeper, and set down that 'Alternate' route in a journey to the North. Then, you'll come face to face with challenging, true kaizo levels that will certainly test you far more than the 'Main' route.

Real talk time.
As I'm sure you may have guessed, this is my first hack, and I'm aware of the trappings that such things entail. I've done my best to ensure that the hack isn't too blind, isn't too unfair and is well-playtested, reaching out to experienced testers to give me the critical feedback I need. I hope you check it out when it releases, and I certainly hope you enjoy your time with it! It'd be my absolute dream for Polyphony to find its way onto a list of recommended 'Kaizo for beginners' in some fashion, but one can only hope.

Have a lovely day, and thank you for checking out my thread! #smrpg{<3}
lordy, here we go! here's my entry:
