Well i guess this question might get too basic for many of you, but i still wanted to ask.
There's this thing about sprite limitaiton i haven't been able to fix. I have a level in my hack, where i bypassed ExGFX to have a SMB3 smashible brick, along with the "Rope" tileset for FG. And in the sprites, whenever i insert the gray clock wise and counter clock-wise plattform it doesnt' appear correctly but cut in half, although i can still stand in air.
Is that problem a sprite limitation or what?
Also... a Youtube user who always plays hacks showing them, speaks of sprite limitation. I thought i was just supossed to deal with the screens but it seems it's bigger than that.
Remember the folders and the files are named case sensitive.
Folder Name: Graphics content: GFXnn.bin files where "nn" is the HEX numbering from 00 to 33. Plus a file named AllGFX.bin
folder name: ExGraphics content: ExGFXnn.bin files where "nn" is the HEX numbering from 81 to mmmm.... a very high number!.
When inserting new graphics, make sure the files are named case sentive. Also, if you insert them as GFX, they should show inmediately. If you're inserting them as ExGFX, you have to bypass the FG, BG or sprites for that level (red poisonus mushroom button)
I don't know why, but whenever inserting new graphics (either GFX or ExGFX) unchecking both boxes won't garble my rom.
To insert them to the ROM, click on "File --> Graphics --> Insert ExGFX to ROM..." or "File --> Graphics --> Insert GFX to ROM..." whatever you like.
Try that out and PM me the outcome you get.
fomelogo helped me with what I needed to do, Now I have other problems.
First things first, All the colours gone, it just goes to the normal colourless pallattes.
Secondly, I cant find a way to put it in the graphic bit without putting it over some important things. Any advice?
i don't really get what your problem is... What are those important things you are talking about?...
I tried myself to change the "Nintendo Presents" for a Fomelogo presents, wich worked just fine. But i can't give that titlescreen colors.. my guess is that is your problem and i havent been able to fix it just yet...
i'll keep trying and if i ever figure it out, i'll PM you to tell you that's 4 sure
Hi guys, is there anybody having problems with the palette?
this is really bugging me... and the solution to this one may be very simple for the advanced users, but to me it isn't... i still can't figure it out.
The thing is this:
I downloaded a very cool looking ExGFX for my hack... It is Obsidian serpent's slashman FG and BG stuff, wich i really like and i want to use in my hack.
This is very long to explain, but to make it short, the FG set has mainly 2 colors: Brown for the dirt and green for the vegetation, some of them in the same tile. When i check the FG file in YY-CHR, looking for the colors it uses i can se, FOR SURE that for the vegetation it uses from colors 09 to 0F (i think so) and for the dirt it uses colors from 02 to 07... So good so far?
WAIT! wait 'till i insert the ExGFX. When I do that, and insert the map16.bin into my map16 editor, the tiles look good, but when i load the palette to my level, it just gets annoying. I change the palette and I realize that, inside the ROM, lunar magic forgot to use colors 09 to 0F (vegetation) and it simply uses colors 02 to 07 for every tile... as a result... i can't have green vegetation along with brown dirt. Either i have both brown vegetation and dirt, or both vegetation and dirt in green tones...
i'd appreciate some help guys
i would like someone to help me with sprite tool
even with the tutorial i cant figure out what to do
what's your problem i might be able to help you out... there's a tutorial, wich i think is really simple (made by me, so i could be being a little biased)
by the way is biased correctly written?... i looked it up un google translate.
Hi i've been looking arround this site to see if i could get a sprite graphics... actually im looking for a Luigi looking koopa.
I'm pretty sure i've seen some videos out there showing a koopa tha looks exactly like luigi.
Does anyone have any idea where to get it?
i've been trying to make it myselg, but it really hard work
Yes as people said before in this thread, Michael Jackson's entire discography is very enjoyable... but if I had to pick a couple of songs that I could just listen to over and over and never getting bored of it would have to be:
Song: The girl is mine Album: Thriller
In this song he actually sings along with Paul McCartney making the lyrics pretty much sound like a dialog between them... Very good music too
Songs: Off the wall
Don't stop 'till you get enough
She's out of my life Album: Off the wall
Songs: Black or white Album: Dangerous
But then again, I really like all his stuff. I have bought pretty much every single album.
OK, so SilverYoshi asked me to post something here. Normally i don't post here at smwcentral (As you can see, I'm just a flopping Cheep-cheep), and I mostly use this incredibly useful site as a source for graphics and music for my current hack.
So, bottom line is that this C3 project (The 4 elemental jewels) is a very fun hack... it wasn't that confusing at first, and the different music and sprites in each level, along with the palettes, makes it really easy to follow.
As SilverYoshi, I enjoy drawing myself the graphics in my hack (you'll se several made entirely by me when released) so yeah...
Anyway, pardon my basic english, and...
download this hack. It's definetly worth playing
Hello there... i was looking arround in the site. My hack is almost over now, i have 17 exits. But I took mario and made him look like the 16-bit super mario from SNES, which is great but i cant get to edit the complete GFX32.bin
I have labeled every single 16x16 tile by a white square and a hex number, so when i need to edit something i know where to. But the thing is i can't find a suitable .bin file or a file to insert as mario.
Anyway... I don't care for the palettes, since i can manage to do it myself, i just need the template. I can't filter the results in the graphics section for "Player" tag, so i came here for help.
Does anyone know a link to a GFX32.bin file for 16-bit SMB3 Mario?
Here I attach a picture of what it looks like (Dropbox is the host site)
