! Progress Update !

In the past 5 days, a lot of Progress has been done, so let's talk about it.

I've gotten a lot of World 7 done, like, I've gotten 5 of the 7 levels in this World done. So if your planning on testing for the firth demo, heavily suggest you WAIT for sixth one.

World 7: Boo's Woods. (Info)

World 7 is a very spooky world, with a lot of spooky ghosts. It has 7 levels, and 9 total exits. In my opinion, I'd say this World has real step in difficulty. Many challenges await Mario in this world. Having a Joshi and the using Spin Jumps is recommended!

Notable additions:
-You can see progress to 100% completion on the Overworld border now.
-Mario can perform a new move now, will go into more detail when demo comes out.
-Marco can now slide kill Boo's and Eerie's! Why? Because it's funny.

Things I've notice and fixed. (also spoilers)

RTX on: Doilus Stage 3:

-Fixed the start of the level having no music.
-Fixed weird graphical glitches with Mario's hand when riding Yossy.


Casino Skies:
-Finally fixed Weird Mole tile.
-Added Bouncing Rexes

Simple Platforming:
-Added 3 missing Luigi coins.


Forest Fire, AHHH!!:
-Gave the player more time.

New Demo, new things:
-World 7, Boo's Woods.
-New ability! Airspin, hit A in the Air to activate.
-Fixed the start of the level having no music, and -Fixed weird graphical glitches with Mario's hand when riding Yossy in 'RTX on: Doilus Stage 3.'
-Fixed weird mole tile in Casino Skies.
-Quality-of-life improvements.
-Add Yoshi coins to level that needed them.
-More Overworld improvements.
-More Cutscene improvements.

And lots more!

And I'd like to know, do you think Super Mario Adventure 3 (so far) is better Super Mario Adventure 2? I wanna make sure the final game in the series is the best one.

Once again, thinks for testing Segment.

I guess It's time to clear up some confusion.

Bone-Dry Dunes is inspired by oil ocean from Sonic 2, where the oil acts the same way. Maybe adding theme from that level will make the reference more obvious.

Kumo no mori I guess is a ruins level, because of the dark atmosphere, statues, and song in level literally being called Ruins, so I guess it is one?

Also maybe I'll do a candy themed world future hack, because I did have lots of fun make Katie's Candies. ​

World 8 info.

World 8 is a planned 8-bit, based off of the 8-bit themed levels in Adventure 2. These levels are planned to be bigger and better than the ones in though, with more themes than just Mario Brothers 1, even bootlegs will get there time to shine! More info soon!

This demo has lots for new things so let's talk about them.

Demo has new stuff?? Woah.
-World 8
-Add Yoshi's house to World 1
-Leafs fall on the World 1's overworld map now. (Thanks Segment.)
-Green switch spits out green blocks now.
-Added message boxes to some levels.
-Added bomb koopa too Kori no mori.
-Castle and Switches now get crashed on the overworld map.
-Spike Ft. Skikes? has been read named to What is a Skike? and is in the sky now.

The 7th demo for Super Mario Adventure 3 is out! This demo adds..

World 8



World 8 is an 8-bit themed world. With 6 levels and 6 exits.
This world as levels based off of the NES Mario games.
Like Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3, and even Somari.
This world was a lot of fun to make. I hope you enjoy!
Also, in most of the levels, you can move backwards.

Super Mario World: A Super Mario Adventure 2 (V2.0)
New Update for Super Mario Adventure 2!



This update fixes a lot of problems with game, and even some new features!
This update adds:
-Airspin and Progress percentage from Adventure 3
-Removed SMB3 dash timer.
-Fix tons of mistakes and errors.
-You can find different colored Yoshi's now.
-Tons of small improvements.
-Made levels more Yoshi friendly.
-FastROM
-Fall themed overworld when Bowser is beaten.

Super Mario World: A Super Mario Adventure 1 But better.

Man, I'm really talking about all 3 games today... #smw{¬_¬}
Super Mario Adventure 1 is good, but it could be better, so I have start working on making the game better with remaster!

This remaster is still very much in the planning phase, and not much has been done to the levels yet.
But my plans are too..
-Remove SMB3 dash timer.
-Add new graphics and palettes to make the game look a heck ton better.
-Rearrange and add new levels.
-Add Airspin and Progress percentage from 3.
-Remove U-Jump
-Remove Flutter Jump.
-Redo overworld maps, and add "widescreen" borders.
-Fix tons of mistakes and grammatical errors.
-Add cape in Star World. (Maybe)
-Improved cutscenes.
-Remove Hatless Mario. (Maybe)
-Add HMDA and Parallax effects.
-Add new Luigi GFX.
-SA-1 (HARD maybe)

! Progress Update !

Welcome back! It's time for another Progress Update. If your planning on testing, I suggest waiting for Demo 8.

World 9 Info:
World 9 is Rainbow Road from Mario Kart! I hope you have lives in reserve, because this world really steps up the difficulty! This World has 8 exits, and 7 levels, In this world you can also find both the Blue Switch and Blue Yoshi! 6 of the 8 exits are finished.

Fixes to pre-existing levels:

Castle of Big Boo:
This level has been changed a lot. It's been given a new song and some dark coding as well! These even a new secret boss. Can you find it?


Somari?:
Fixed these spots where it was possible to clip into the floor tried hard enough. Sorry if you fell victim to these spots while play the C3 demo!


8-bit Waters:
It's been made slightly harder, also the player has been given an additional 100 seconds.

Somari's Lair:
During the battle with Somari, things like mushroom where yellow, there back to red now. Also you can't bring Boshi into this level anymore.

-Cutscenes will now use this UberASM instead of my kinda outdated way of using doors, meaning you can skip them now, Yay!

I have this to make it so caped Mario has separate sprites from regular Mario, and I wanna add SA-1 to my hack. But the cape patch does not work with SA-1, is there any way to make it compatible?

I don't think Mr.Yellow Lines over here is a good player character.

That's custom graphics and it's allowed to add new graphics or replace existing graphics. Be aware that you need to edit the included ExGFX files and not the original graphics since the baseROM is using DSS. As a result, you have to manually copy and paste the tiles from the graphics you linked to ExGFXD02 in the with the same format as the destination.

Speaking of sprite ExGFX: That list contains all the graphics of the vanilla sprites as well as those of extended SMW sprites (Piranha Plants, Timed Lifts, Spiny, Creating/Eating Blocks, Thwomp and half of the Mechakoopa).
For the other custom sprites, they use these ExGFX:
  • Boost Platform: D62 (same as the falling platform)
  • Carryable Pipes: D7C
  • Falling Leaf: D7D
  • Portable TNT: D7E
  • Bouncing Spiny Egg: D08
  • Mechakoopa: D60 (same as vanilla Mechakoopa), D7F
  • Spike: D80

-In 8-Bit World, Boshi is automatically exterminated. He was causing a bit too many problems.

Didn't really add much in terms of fixes, but I guess that's a good thing.

Notes:
-You can play the first level of World 10, but as of right now it's just a simple parallax test. If you would like to see a very early level and unfinished level for this World, just heed over to Level ID 118.
-Some cutscenes like the Darkness in Cave scenes in the opening or the shaking in the Doomsday ship are lacking their respective effects, they don't really want to work with the cutscene ASM.

It's time for another Progress, things have been going well! #smw{:TUP:}

World 10: Bowser's Volcano. (Progress 95% done)

World 10 is Bowser's Volcano from adventure 1. Expect to see some very hot enemies here! This World has 9 exits, and 7 levels. This world is like a combination of all 3 games.
It has themes and location's based off of 1 and 2 with the level design 3.
This is the games final Non-Doilus world.

This world is basically finished, I just need to polish somethings here and there.

World 11 plans:

World 11 is a Doilus world, it has a planned 11 levels and 12 exits. This World will have new levels based off of all the past worlds, these will be some the most challenging in the game and will really test your skills! You will also refight the respected world's boss at the end of a level.

Break:

I'm going on a break for a bit, nothing to long probably just for 3 or 4 days. I've been working on this hack almost daily since the start of this year, and I'm kinda getting a bit burned out. #smw{x_x} Demo 9 should be out by the time I get back to working though!
