The most likely thing that I can think of is that you have a vertical fireball in the level and you forgot to enable sprite buoyancy.

In other words, the path that you are talking about is hard-coded into the hex.

1: You can get a SPC from any game. Just hit "dump SPC" (on your emulator) at the start of the song.

2: You can turn SPCs into MIDIs with a program called "SPC2MIDI" found in the tools section. You'll have to fix up the .txt file when you get it, because Tinymm messes up a few things.

Sigh... The squish tile of the squashable goomba is the top-right tile of the wing in GFX 01. What the hack was the person who made the patch thinking??? And, the patch is in IPS format, so we can't go in and change the numbers... I... kinda made a wing GFX that goes around that tile, so there is no squish pose, but the wing looks... bad to say the least.
