Can the Overworld border be updated? It is one of the few things that is unchanged.

Playtested the level, and it is great. The only thing that could be changed is how to get the first and third SMWC Coins, cause they're hard for me to get.

I will still use most of the songs from the original hack but i'm also using new songs to replace songs that were ether unfitting or outdated. And since there are going to be new levels, they will have new songs too.


Good to know, the original hack had tons of great VLDC 7/8 music placed into it.

Improvements I would like to see later in development:
*Use the HDMA ASM to not show the gradients when clearing a level.
*Find a ASM that allows the “Mario” and the “star” symbol in Course Clear to retain its color.
*Find a way so that the Level Clear text is floating directly on the front, not obstructed by scenery
*Use indicators on the over world to know that all Star Coins are collected.
*After clearing a level, the Star Coins should be replaced by transparent ones that reward you more coins, as the real ones in a level won’t be collected again after collecting them.
*After clearing a main boss, the orb would instead drop, floating in the arena so Mario would collect it, which will initiate the Course Clear for bosses when collected. Replaying the level would simply have the orbs replaced by transparent ones after beating the boss the second time.

For the world 2 overworld, can you replace the SMRPG Forest Maze track with Imamelia's better version, which was used in Yoshi's Strange Quest.

To increase the performance of this hack, I think you should use the SA1 ASM, as it would reduce the slowdown that your original hack had(especially when there are TONS of onscreen sprites).

Are you going to add new enemies/hazards/gimmicks, especially in the new levels? I suggest adding stuff from the SMM games, like the ON/OFF blocks and Snow Pokeys.

As shown with some hacks, it is possible to change the font of the VWF level prompts. I think you should change the YI font in them to make them be more in line with the OW, HUD, and dialogue box fonts.

Some of the tracks used have sampled variants available. I recall at least three tracks you are planning to use that have sampled variants available at SMWC.
