You'd probably first have to apply some of Mario's physics from the Shoshinkai build. Such as replacing the triple jump with the spinning jump when bouncing on a Shy Guy, a different, lighter ground pound, and the upright run. You'd also have to find the placeholder Mario sounds (I think they're all on YouTube somewhere.). Then you should start off with the iceberg stuff, like Luigi, the brain diagram Wet Dry World, and the Bowser Room (I don't know why this is a part of the iceberg when it was literally just something Chris O'Neil made up when he was a child).

This is my first Super Mario 64 hack, so it may be a bit buggy.

This is a graphics, physics, text, and music hack of Super Mario 64.

Note: I am not sure if this hack works on real hardware, but if it does, it requires the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak to work, as it runs on 8MB of RAM.

Thank you for playing!

Here is a link to a gameplay trailer with a download link to the zipped folder including the patch file in the description.

I'm working with the decomp and there's a few things I've been having trouble with.

One, is it possible to replace the 3D Star model with a 2D sprite? If so, how?

Two, how do I properly replace sound files? Every time I insert my own custom .aiff files it gives me a makefile error.

And finally, how can I replace Mario's triple jump with the spin jump that he does when jumping on a Fly Guy or Spindrift?

If anyone can help me, that would be great. Thank you!

My time to shine.
Give me a bit and I'll get it ready for you. Any specific instrument set you'd like or does it not matter?

The same problem seems to occur when extending the ROM through ROM manager.

Also, there doesn't seem to be any option to import models for Mario? I can only find options to import models for NPCs.

Yeah, I don't think ROM Manager has a Mario import option. It's really weird - SM64 Editor had it, and it's super outdated compared to it.

I have a suggestion for your 2nd question. Try using .WAV files in the sound tool. I don't think it can import .AIFF files

Already figured it out, and I'm not using the sound tool, I'm using the decomp. The decomp ROMs aren't compatible with any external editing tool.
