story: rex decides to prove himself by taking on Bowser, can he defeat the tyrannical king koopa.

I have made several changes to the hack since my last submission. I did some work with rex's tiles and I think he looks a bit better now. I also changed his palette. I added a new level accessible from the start. it is an optional level, that includes rex's house and a five part challenge level that unlocks the special world gfx for enemies.(all of which are custom except for the piranha, I left it as the pumpkin head)

wow, it's Luigi.
I also put some custom fg/bg gfx in some of the existing levels. there is custom music, however I don't know how to fix the p-switch problem where it keeps playing the switch music after it expires.:(
I’m 2 levels into the 2nd world now. I’m also thinking of making a star road of some kind.

I’ve been doing a lot in the 2nd world, with stuff such as a scrolling boat section, some layer 2 stuff, and a couple npcs.

yeah, i don't know how to exanimate the fireball, but i can't seem to be able to find the tutorial you mentioned. whats the title, that will make it easier to find.

the metroid i animated in the lab is not a sprite, i know how to exanimate tiles, just not sprites. it would be best if i could make birdo spit bowser statue flames.

i'm now using a diffrent admusic so alot of the music in the game has changed, hopefully for the better. i also tweeked a couple of levels and moved the bonus special world challenge thingie to be the last level in the special area. i also put in the cut scene tool for use before bosses in switch palaces because the spite to show level message 2 was glitching the npcs...


here's the cave overworld.

this one is the special world, with luigi's palace sitting on the cliff.



as that is Luigi's palace i thought he wouldn't want to have Bowser statues in his palace.

here is a portion of the main overwould with some new clouds, trees, and sparkles in the water.

One thing that confuses me though: Rex is trying to destroy the Koopa Army for Yoshi, yet it seems Mario and Luigi want him dead. Not that it's a bad thing at all, I just don't really see what side Rex is on.

he's one of the good guys. Mario may want to squish him, but in another level luigi is a freindly npc who congragulats rex. Mario is just used to killing everything in sight he beleives to be an enemy.

after certain levels(boss fight levels i think) the overworld music doesn't play. is there a fix i can do to solve this problem, as i use bosses quite often in my rom.

i would like a wave motion eerie edit that can be killed with jump/spinjump/trrown items, because it would be a perfect sprite for the pink flying enimie from kirby

ludwig, you could put the sprite that ends the level when all spites on screen go away. that way when you beat the enime the feather will apear and when you grab that the level will end.

i messed it up acidently in translhextion. i just need to know the offset i need to change, and what it should be. i know that's what's wrong because game over looks normal and it uses the same tile.
