That's what the first level of the mountain themed world will look like. It is using bouncing blocks in form of the red mushroom platforms and line guides with platforms and chainsaws.

The little rocks in the dirt are nice, I hope the design is as nice as they are.

Hello, I have an issue with color math, layer 3, and layer 2.
Code
	LDA #$01
	STA $3E

	LDA #$22
	STA $44

	LDA #$15
	STA $212C
	LDA #$02
	STA $212D

	LDA.b #$B5
	STA $40

This code is in place in order to create a layer 2 spotlight, giving this effect. However, layer three does not show in the BG, and instead looks, with layer 2 disabled, like this. I believe this may be indicative of a larger problem, and related to this patch which creates a layer three status bar.

Here's a patch of the ROM so you can see what it looks like. Just enter the level then the door in order to get to the sublevel.

I agree that the colors could use some work. The text, however, looks great.
What determines the tile a growing pipe generates? The values in the table are $00,$14,$00,$02 and $00,$15,$00,$02, but they don't directly correlate to the tile number. Some values bug completely and others give a (seemingly) random tile.

EDIT: Also, how can I make the platform only solid from the top? I've noticed $01B44F makes a sprite solid, but I can't find anything that makes it platform passable.
