Hello everyone! It's been a while since I first took up SMW hacking, and was lingering around this site for about a year until I finally made an account today. It's surprising that a hacking community for a game more than 20 years old is so active and cheerful! Excited to join the conversation!

I think I have a bug report: If a flip-x or flip-y a tile (or a rectangle of tiles), then change that rectangle's dimensions by dragging the edges, the rectangle automatically gets unflipped. Quite a bothersome bug.

The level graphics you made look beautiful though! Good job! I suggest you submit those to the Graphics Section, adding corner and slope tiles if necessary.

This should be a technical tip, not a level design tip
New tip:
You can use a regular 4Kb FG/BG file as AN2 but you cannot use a 6.5Kb ExAnimation file as FG/BG.
(Please reword this properly)

I'm quite new to SMWCentral so may I know what the P-switch in the Menu bar on the right is for?
|
You could just click the arrow icon to sort by oldest first

Or, you could provide access from your Google Drive

Originally posted by ThomasCurrently Lunar Magic does not have support for custom tile surface outlines (to my knowledge, anyway). You could make a request for such a feature in this thread; I imagine it wouldn't be *too* hard of a feature to add into the existing dsc file format if deemed worthwhile.
No, he probably meant to change the hitboxes ingame.

I don't know if this is a good idea, but adding YI and SM64 hacking tips would be nice.

Idea: Would it be feasible to code the tips so that YI and SM64 tips show up while you're viewing the relevant pages, like those forums and sections?
I agree

So you basically want a Bowser's Fury styled Item Reserve but with 1 of each powerup as the limit instead of 5?
|
The "ZZZ" is tileset-specific, so I don't know how anybody would pull that off...

Well, switching between the reserve items would be cool, but I don't think it's necessary for me. I mentioned that just in case someone else would like it. And I haven't really played Bowser's Fury.
What I meant was that your request translated to Bowser's Fury's system of handling powerups, because:
- An item is added to the reserve when you collect it
- You lose that powerup permanently if you get hit until you collect it again
- You can switch between powerups at any time
By the way, I do not know any ASM myself, I just wrote this down so that people willing to take up this request understands what they are trying to code.

I don't understand your question. Can you please give more details?
|
Awesome! You might want to use a custom block that I encountered somewhere in the blocks section for those cave/fake wall areas.
Also the name is taken by another hack already
|
SMWCentral displays what I have posted in the forums in my profile but it doesn't do so for posts on submissions/files. Why not?
I really want this because I can keep track of everything I have posted.

This is the block that I meant but Noobish Noobsicle's version looks better anyway (judging by the screenshots, haven't really tested it).
Edit: I have to mention that Noobish Noobsicle's version kills the background, so you may have to reconsider your choices.

Thanks a lot!
