3-World demo has been released!

(Plot:)
After a bright flash of lightning, Mario now finds himself in a strange place. He doesn't know where he is, and has to find out how to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom.




After a few months of trying out things with LM and reading this forum, i decided to make my own hack. Right now the first two Three Five Six worlds are finished.

'Yoshi's Island' Submap.


Part of the first level, and a bonus room.


A (dark) Cave part of the first level.


The second level, Dark forest.


The third level is a sky-based level with lots of moving platforms.



The first-World Castle: Iggy's Insanity.
It even has climbing nets.


Right koopa on the right screen climbs a little bit too far. has been fixed already.

The second world is a Cave world!


The first level; The colorless cave!


Then, there's the Deeper Caves. This level includes Yoshi!
If you grab the blue shell, you can get an 1-up!



It even has a 'ghost' house.
Pokey, just give me that Yoshi coin already. Also has an underwater part!


Next up: The eaten cave. this level is partly based on... Eating blocks!

And no, you don't need yoshi to complete the levels he is in, but using him can make you end up with an extra 1-up or two.

I DO have a plot right now, but it's going to be changed when/if i get a better suggestion/idea.

Current plot: Mario lost a fight against bowser, and now finds himself in a strange land. The only way to get back to the mushroom kingdom is to find and defeat bowser.

I have finished another level in the hack, which will be the first level of world 3!

I made a new palette for 'Rhino Rumble', As the one I had wasn't really good. This one is very close to the original.
(And looking at what Davros said, I decided to keep that Dino-Rhino palette for a snow level later, and use a new one here.)

Thanks, there's no layer 2 interaction on that level though, so it isn't that much of a 'Layer 2' Level.

@Icebox, That OW looks nice. I like the graphics, and like Jorshamo, I couldn't find a single error on it.


I have completed another level of my hack :D
This level has a few (small/easy) puzzles near the beginning, and ends with line guides.

Midiguy, I like that Huff 'n' Puff boss, especially the way it doesn't really fly or attack a lot until it gets hit a bunch of times. It looks pretty awesome too. :D

The flipped midway point tiles are because it is a little cutoff when the midway point is placed in the air, I figured it looked better this way. (awesome paint-edited picture showing said cutoff)

It's pretty hard to see sometimes, but the bottom right (and left) 8x8 tiles (The blue lines on it) don't match the tiles above them.
Also, I fixed the cave using the wrong music, and smoothed out the cave itself. Thanks for mentioning these, I wouldn't have noticed the music one myself, and i tend to end up lazy and just spam those rectangular ground because it's just that easy to do. :P

Actually, I found a place where you can be stuck badly (four-tiles high munchers on one side, 5-times high (Too high to jump) Bullet bill shooter on the other side, but that has been fixed, as seen in the above screenshots where i also fixed the bullet bill behind the scenery. Also, glad you like it. =)

I were really shy when I first came here, and I pretty much still am.
As a matter of fact, it took me over 4 months to get to post 1.
The biggest reason for that was because I just am that shy, I guess.
Also, I pretty much don't post at all if I can't add any real content to it or find a good reason to post.

I spent my first 4 and a half months here by just reading things, figuring out how everything works, and starting work and looking how everything turned out, and after that a while to actually make something I could show. Things that really helped me improve my hacking and stuff were the Screenshot/Video thread (Looking at what other people did, and how that turned out), and especially the removal log, Where I pretty much learned what I was not supposed to do.

On a side note, this actually is my first post out of hack discussion.

I made a 'Kaizo-Styled' Level.
It doesn't make any sense at all, and has some parts which are way hard mixed up with parts that are way too easy to be in a kaizo hack.
Also note that it isn't completed until you put the key in the keyhole.

A level in the Forest world has been completed!

It contains Hiding Piranha plants, and sometimes Chucks charging at you.


Also some BLUE piranha plants :O


Even a very dark Wiggler!


And a first forest level obviously needs bombs with parachutes.


Also, if you look at the first and second screenshot, I used the unused bush style 5. :D
