Hey everyone! Hopefully I'm posting in the right place. I am refreshing my knowledge on LM after many years, and trying to add some things in. I absolutely cannot get a couple of items to work. I downloaded the Kamek sprite / ASM, as well as the Zombie turtle spite / ASM. I cannot get these to work in LM. The issue seems to be that I no longer have the knowledge to get the config files right, and my ASAR program says the Kamek file has over 20 errors. It says it's good to go on the Zombie sprite, but I'm not seeing it in my sprite list. I'm sure I'm doing something dumb, but cannot figure it out. Thanks in advance.
Hey everyone. I'm new here, so hopefully this is the right place to post! I am having a problem of my own design (literally) - I made a custom palette and mapping for my overworld, as well as some of my levels. The problem I'm running into, however, is that the file "ExGFX83.bin" is related to BOTH mappings and palettes - meaning that only one works at a time. If I replace the "ExGFX83.bin" with the one I want at the moment in the "ExGraphics" folder and import, it works on that particular one, while completely wrecking and pixelating the other with a separate "ExGFX83.bin" file. Any recommendations on a workaround? Thanks so much! :)
Thanks for the response! :) You are understanding correctly - the MAP16 file related to files both utilize tiles and palettes that are completely different. I renamed one of them to an unused number (ExGFX95), but that did not correct the problem. Perhaps I need to somehow edit the coding for the MAP16 or overworld mapping? I received this error when I imported the graphics: "ExGFX structure 08e: structure too large" and "recompression of structure failed". I guess I'm rustier than I thought, hah!

Thanks, KevinM! I followed the tutorial and apparently I'm still doing something wrong. For instance, Kamek has the "jumped on" sound effect immediately upon entering the screen, and looks all jumbled up with the football dude's sprite rather than Kamek. I tried to post a screenshot but it isn't working..

I know the sprite has an SP3.bin file, but I'm not sure how to utilize this. The Kamek sprite is correct in the programs, but does not seem to be making it into LM.

Heya gang! I have a couple of questions. First, I have setup my death block graphics, set to act as 130, and have discovered it's being treated as a normal block. Any suggestions?

Secondly, I am trying to set the Kamek SP3 sprite to act as a boss and throw magic - any suggestions here? He flies on and off screen as expected, but is not taking damage or interacting with magic.

Thanks Kevin! So, I have inserted the sprites with PIXI already. The package comes with .cfg and .asm files. Essentially, without the ASM application, it looks like the boss functionality is inactive (throwing things doesn’t hurt Wart, neither does jumping on him). It appears to be coded into the .asm for Wart and the veggie generator. The errors above make it look like I need to edit the coding, but it seems complete to me. Am I just overthinking this? Thanks!

Hey everyone! I am working on a Sonic-based hack, but would like Amy Rose as the main character. I found a SMW-styled sprite sheet over at Spriter’s Resource, but I cannot get the graphics to cooperate, nor can I get a palette to save properly. Would anyone be so kind as to replace Mario’s graphics with Amy’s and help out with a palette? Sorry, I know this is probably a noob request, but I AM a noob, hah! Thanks!

Custom graphics for a new project:

(1) Updating Mario sprites to have sunglasses and a snorkel. Not sure how hard this would be, but think goggles with the snorkel attachment, only it’s sunglasses instead.

(2) A graphic that is a welcome sign that says “CLEVELAND”. I could not get this to work, but would likely need to be four part graphics (TL,TR,BL,BR). Color would preferably be green.

(3) Turning the moon 3-up into a taco.

(4) A Reese’s bar graphic. Orange and brown coloring to match the packaging. May need to be four part graphic as well (TL,TR,BL,BR).
