Track: The Lost Vikings - Egyptian Groove (SNES)

Sampled: Yes.

Source: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JUGAXeYAtf4

I’ve been trying to port this awesome track from the SNES version of The Lost Vikings for quite some time, but it’s out of my ability. I am working on a new hack and want to include this track. Thanks!
Thanks!! Are you able to do the SNES version?
Hey everyone! I’m not sure if this request is feasible, but could someone make the voice in the video below into a usable file to be inserted into a hack? I have the MP3 for this, but no idea how a voice would be made into a .txt file. I’ve seen hacks that have them, so I know it can be done, however. I was able to have the Luigi’s Mansion intro voice converted by an awesome member of the community, so figured I’d give it a go once more. The link is

Thanks!
Hello everyone! I am having some issues with custom graphics. I have read through countless help threads, tutorials, similar questions, and YouTube videos. I have inserted my graphics, but I cannot for the life of me get them into a non-jumbled, usable format for use in Lunar Magic. This seems to stem from the palette differing from the level palette, as well as 8x8 translation lacking detail (not to mention attempting to get this over to the 16x16 side…). I am trying to add the graphics into level C7 and a few others, for reference. I am admittedly fairly new at this and not very good at working with Map 16 - though again, I have used all the resources available and cannot seem to pull off what I’m attempting. Any thoughts or tips?
Hey everyone,

I’ve been working in BRR Tools and attempting to convert a VERY short sound file from .wav to .brr. As you know, Windows 10 has to run the encoder in command prompt, which promptly decided to stop functioning today. I absolutely cannot get the program to spit out what I need. The link is https://youtube.com/shorts/Bktj1yaCsW0?feature=share. Can anyone assist on this? I’m trying to complete a hack for an important friend and I’m stuck due to this issue. :/ Thanks in advance!

Your problem is a little hard to figure out from here. Are you making graphics yourself, or are you trying to insert ones you downloaded? If you've read the ExGFX guide (which I assume you have), which step is going wrong? What do you mean by "lacking detail"?

The general idea is this:
- graphics files contain 8x8 tiles, and you can load them into a level. (Sounds like you got that working.)
- depending on which slot you load the file in, the 8x8 tiles will have different numbers.
- by arranging four 8x8 tiles and assigning them a palette, you create a Map16 tile (that's what you place in the level).

If it's the drawing process you're having trouble with, how are you going about it? Could you post a screenshot of what your graphics look like?

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been trying to work through this and I’m stuck. I will upload screenshots later, but essentially what I am pretty green when it comes to custom graphics. I used a tool to create .bin and .pal files for a few items. For reference, I am attempting to get a custom logo on the “Nintendo presents” screen, and custom SMW text logo on the title screen (think Grand Poo World, with Barb’s custom intro logo and title screen logo). When I put these in the graphics files, I can copy and paste from the 8x8; however, once I do this, LM will not let me use the graphics in the level. I have tried assigning the graphic to all slots in the poison mushroom, to no avail. Once I use the palette files for the ExGFX it absolutely wrecks the level as well. It turns everything black. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. I have tried everything from the guide, we well as attempting the “Give me presents” trick that allows pasting. No avail there either. I’m a visual person so I feel like if I had someone to walk me through it once , I’d be fine. Otherwise, I’m stuck. ;)
Music File: Custom Intro File for Conversion
Sampled: Uncertain.

Hey everyone! I have a very simple music request. My computer updated a while back, and will no longer allow me to use BRRTools, even in command prompt. Would anyone be able to convert this sound for me? It is at https://www.mediafire.com/file/ol6q10xl2y41oul/BC.wav/file . Thanks so much! :)
Hey everyone! I updated my computer a few months back, and ever since then can no longer get BRRTools or anything to work for converting WAV to BRR. Can anyone help me / port this? Even command prompt no longer works. The link to the file is https://www.mediafire.com/file/ol6q10xl2y41oul/BC.wav/file . I'm using this as a "Nintendo Presents" sound for a friend to cheer them up, but cannot get it to work. 😦 Thanks!

There you go I downsampled it to 32KHz since the original was too big to be inserted, but 44KHz was overkill anyway. You should play it at o4c with tuning $07$A8.

Awesome, thanks! I'm having trouble getting a .txt to generate as well. IN GENERAL, it works, but the size is still too big to insert. Is there any possible way to reduce the file to the typical 2KB-10KB size? I used the Luigi's Mansion intro sound for a hack, which is similar length, but nowhere near as large of a file. I'm a huge noob at the music stuff, so it may just be that I am making mistakes. My computer is also dying and will not generate .txt or anything correctly anymore. Ugh!

Anyway - thanks again. :)
