Two questions:

Is it hard to delete with an hex editor?

And lastly: So, ASAR is just commands that modifies the engine of SMW? Like: if B is pressed, normally, Mario will jump. With a ASAR command, it replace the jump with a punch?

I plan before I make my hack, so everything will be planned to be inserted, no worries.


I meant to delete some sprites I won't use. For example, I am sure that I don't need hammer bros that is a sprite in Super Mario World. So I'd like to delete him in order to free some space.

I'm having some trouble with the lazy shell project manager.

Yesterday I just changed the names of some levels and added a description. And today, I just modified the description and clicked save.

I started this topic to keep me motivated on the hack.

The purpose of this topic is to inform everyone about the progress of my hack. In the form of what I'm currently doing, etc. what I have planned.

Current focus: Linking the current levels + Solitidy map of the current levels
Progress of the drawing of the levels: (starting to level 3)


LEVELS:

Section 1:
->Drawing layers 1-2-3(7/7 = 100 %)

->Exits: DONE
->Solidity map: TODO


Section 2: Level 10 to 19(except 15)
->Drawing layers 1-2-3 ((10/10: 100%)
->Exits: TODO
->Solidity map: TODO

Section 3:
->Drawing Layer 1-2-3 (0/21 = 0%)
Level 20: TODO
Level 21: TODO
Level 22: TODO

EQUIPMENT:
->Weapons: 21 weapons
->Armor: 28 armors
->Accessories: 11 accessories.(will have to verify if it fit)
Weapons: Equipments that modifies greatly the stats or effet
Armories: Equipments that modifies slightly the stats or effects.
Accessories: Equipments that modifies stats with close to no change(it's minor boost)

Every equipments will have a standart. Every equipments that is not the standart one is an "improvement" of the standart at the cost of something(like more attack at the cost of speed for example)

SPELL:

I'm sorry about the long event history, but I think it's better more than less.

Basically: I'm drawing a level, alternating with the draw tool or select tool and the two layers.

Then this happened. I even closed the level editor to see if this change.

If I do undo to remove all that door thingy, then I click somewhere, these doors reappear.

I'm going to close the application and see if this occur again.

EDIT: It doesn't occur again, I can continue what I were doing before this bug.

I think I'd change some thingy about two sprites. I've circled on a screenshot in my file... Excuse me I don't know how to make the site appear it... I've uploaded my screenshot on the files of my profile... it's the only one.

I think the black line of the sams of the right is... weird?

Concerning the sams of the right... I think it's weir do have an exact straight black line somewhat.

Not sure if you will understand...

It would be nice if I had some indication, but I'm assuming you're either referring to the other part of the bowstring (the vertical line) or the hat outline, which was added now. Either way, I can't remove them, because they're essential, looking bad or not. Also, it may look a bit chaotic with all those lines by looking at the GFX itself, but I guarantee they look fine in-game, so don't worry.

Edit: just noticed I forgot to remove the arrow's tip in one of the frames. Fixed.

Yes I know, but when you want the level to look exactly how you want it, starting from almost scratch, it's not that easy. It becomes easier after a while, but it still time consumming.

What are you planning now for the hack? level modeling?
